distance formula.
4. Find the coordinates of the mid-point of the line segment joining the
points
P ( 3, 4 ) and Q ( 5, 6 ) by using ‘mid-point’ formula.

IV. Answer the following questions. 4x3=12


1. Find the coordinates of the point on the line segment joining the points
A ( – 1, 7 ) and B ( 4, – 3 ) which divides AB internally in the ratio 2 : 3.
2. Find the ratio in which the line segment joining the points A ( – 6, 10 )
and B ( 3, – 8 ) is divided by the point ( – 4, 6 ).
3. Which term of the AP : 3, 8, 13, 18,… is 78?
4. Check whether 301 is a term of the AP: 5,11,17,23,…

V. Answer the following questions. 2x4=8


1. Prove that √ 2 is irrational.
2. If Q(0,1) is equidistant from P(5,-3) and R(x,6). Find the value of X.
