UNIT II: INFORMATION SYSTEMS AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
FUNDAMENTALS 15 hrs.
Introduction – Need for Information Technology – Importance of Information Technology in auditing
-- overview of computing – Information System layers -- Information system life cycle – Recent
technologies and Devices- Bluetooth – Wifi – Laptop: Notebook – Tablet – Smart phone – touch pad
– Ipad – Ipod – Android.
UNIT III: TELECOMMUNICATION AND NETWORK 15 hrs.
Introduction – Networking an enterprise – Telecommunication networks – classification of
telecommunication networks – Network topology – Network Security Technique – e-Commerce –
Mobile commerce – electronic Fund Transfer.
UNIT IV: BUSINESS INFORMATION SYSTEM 15 hrs.
Introduction – Information technology as a key Business enabler and driver – Role of Information
System in Business – Types of Information systems – TPS – OAS – KMS – MIS – EIS – DSS –
overview of Specialised Systems – ERP – SCM – CRM – Artificial Intelligence and Expert System.
