Viewing System Information

1.Click File explorer or Window logo + E

2.Right click THIS PC 3. Then click Properties. 4. View your Windows system information
Customize Desktop Background

1. Right-click on an empty portion of the desktop (Shift + F10)


Note:
Keep in mind you must have a Windows license to change your desktop
background.

2. Click Personalize to open this window

3. Click Background.

4. Select a background type. You can choose the display


Option from the different types below
•Picture - Allows you to select a picture to display on your desktop.
•Solid color - Allows you to select a solid color (e.g., gray) to fill
your Windows desktop.
•Slideshow - Displays a series of photos from your computer's
default "Pictures" folder in a slideshow.
Deleting a Desktop Icon
Method 1 : Drag and Drop

1. Select file, folder, or app you want to delete.


2. Drag to Recycle bin

Method 2 : Delete Option


1. Right click file, folder, or app you want to delete.
2. Select Delete
3. and you will prompt with a Confirm Delete dialog box.
4. Select YES or NO.
Creating a new folder
1. Right-click on an empty portion of the desktop (Shift + F10)

2. point the cursor to New

3. and then select Folder

Change size icon
1. Right-click on an empty portion of the desktop (Shift + F10)

2. point the cursor to view

3. and then select Large icons, Medium icons, or Small icons.

Small icons - Ctrl + Shift + 4
To show or hide desktop icons
1. Right-click on an empty portion of the desktop (Shift + F10)

2. point the cursor to view

3. and then select Show desktop icons to add or clear the


check mark.
Auto arrange icons
If you turn on Auto arrange icons, your desktop icons will automatically be arranged in columns along the
left side of your screen.

1. Right-click on an empty portion of the desktop (Shift + F10)

2. point the cursor to view

3. and click on Auto arrange icons to check (on) or uncheck


(off) it.
Align icons to grid
If you turn on Align icons to grid, your desktop icons will automatically be snapped into place as designated by
an invisible grid on your screen. The grid keeps the icons aligned with each other to prevent them from
overlapping.

1. Right-click on an empty portion of the desktop (Shift + F10)

2. point the cursor to view

3. and click on Align icons to grid to check (on default) or


uncheck (off) it.
Change Icon Pictures

1. Right-click on the folder or file you want to use.

2. select Properties
If it’s a folder, select the tab Customize and if it is a
shortcut program,, click on the tab called Shortcut.
Either way, you will now see an option called Change
icon.

3. You will now see the default icons that are built into the
system, and what they are depends on what you want to
change.
4. Browse to the one you want to use.

5. Click on it and then select OK. Then press OK once more to


confirm.

Method 1 : Send to Option

1. Click Start button.


2. Right click on the selected file, folder, or app you
want to create a shortcut

3. From the menu, Click on Show more options

4. Now select Sent to

5. and from the list of options, click on Desktop

Method 2 : Drag and Drop

1. Open Start Menu, here you can find various


applications and recently accessed system
information present.
2. No click on All Apps in the top right corner of the
Start Menu.

3. When All apps open, the list of application


appears to select one of them.

4. Click and drag the application and drop it on the


desktop.
Pin a program to the taskbar

1. To pin a program, select the icon, then drag it to


the taskbar and release.

2. To unpin a program, simply right click on the icon


and select unpin.
Access a Jump List
This feature allows you to view recent documents in a program that is pinned to your taskbar.

1. Right-click an icon that is pinned on a taskbar


to open the program’s Jump List.
Proper Shutting down the computer

1. Click the Start button.

2. Click the Power button

3. Press Shut Down and wait for the screen to turn


black.
