Personal statement

I’ve worked in health center as a health center manager and health office manager for over 10
years and I am driven to make a difference. I’m a highly experienced professional with a
background that includes managing complex systems in health facility throughout my career.
With an innate sense of empathy and enthusiasm for practical problem-solving, I believe, I can
bring both knowledge and innovation to any healthcare organization.

I’ve always loved healthcare management because I want to help people. My interest in health
care management comes from knowing that if employees are treated well and happy with their job
they will have excellent customer service skills and treat patients with excellence.

I currently hold a first degree of B.S.C (Bachelor of Science) in Midwifery from (Gondar
university) Ethiopia and my second degree MPH (Master of Public Health) in Health Service
Management from (Gondar university) Ethiopia.

Currently, I am working in Gondar Zuria Woreda Health Office. My work has focused mainly on
monitoring health center services and providing educated recommendations to serve the
community.

I aspire to this degree as a way to understand how to tackle the challenges that health
organizations face that are related to leadership and management. As a health officer, I
understand how the actions of policymakers impact the systems that we work in. Obtaining this
degree will firstly put me in a good place to handle leadership positions within healthcare
Organizations. It will also prepare me to take a higher leadership responsibility that involves
policy-making and management and promote a system that promotes health equity, efficiency,
and quality.

My decision to study in China is because it has a lot of promises for international students. With
an excellent education system that supports international students. Secondly, the qualifications
from China are internationally recognized and add credibility to its holders, and when added to
the research opportunities, I am confident that I will excel in this program because of my
academic and work experiences. I also have research experiences that will be instrumental to my
success during my thesis.

Upon completion of this program, I foresee a promotion in my current organization, also more
opportunities are coming up for healthcare managers in my countries, and with this qualification;
I will stand a better chance to compete for those lucrative opportunities. In the future, I look
forward to applying my talents and understanding towards new challenges within healthcare
management.
