3 −1 1
polynomial in A using Cayley Hamilton Theorem.
6. Reduce the quadratic form 𝑥 2 + 𝑦 2 + 𝑧 2 − 2𝑥𝑦 − 2𝑦𝑧 − 2𝑧𝑥 to the canonical form by orthogonal
transformation. Also find the rank, index and signature of the quadratic form.
7. Reduce the quadratic form 8𝑥 2 + 7𝑦 2 + 3𝑧 2 − 12𝑥𝑦 − 8𝑦𝑧 + 4𝑧𝑥 to the canonical form by orthogonal
transformation. Also give a non zero set of values x,y,z which makes this quadratic form vanish.

8. Reduce the quadratic form 2𝑥𝑦 − 2𝑦𝑧 + 2𝑧𝑥 to the canonical form by orthogonal transformation. Also
find the rank, index and signature of the quadratic form
9. Reduce the quadratic form 𝑥 2 + 𝑦 2 + 𝑧 2 − 2𝑥𝑦 + 2𝑦𝑧 to the canonical form by orthogonal
transformation. Also give a non zero set of values x,y,z which makes this quadratic form zero.
10. Reduce the quadratic form 3𝑥 2 − 3𝑦 2 − 5𝑧 2 − 2𝑥𝑦 − 6𝑦𝑧 − 6𝑧𝑥 to the canonical form by orthogonal
transformation. Also find the rank, index and signature of the quadratic form
