Linear Programming Applied Problem: Banjos

A banjo factory makes two models of banjos: a model A and a model B. For each model A that is sold
there is a profit of $500. For each model B that is sold there is a profit of $300.
The table below shows the number of machine hours and man hours are needed to produce one banjo of
each model. It also shows the maximum number of hours that are available.

Model A Model B Hours available

Machine hours 6 12 144
Man hours 8 8 136

The maximum number of model A’s that can be made is 14.

How many banjos of each type should be made in order to make a maximum profit?
What is that maximum profit? Justify your answers.
