INTRODUCTION
The performance specifications for LIN SCAN CLP In-Line Inspection (ILI)
services comply with the Pipelines Operators Forum document (version 2016,
Specifications and requirements for intelligent pig inspection of pipelines) with
regards to the format of tables and the terminology used.
If the inspection pig has exceeded the limits as specified in the LIN SCAN Tool
Data Sheet, the inspection report will identify these locations, the deviation
levels as well as effect on the performance specifications, in case the
operational conditions of the pipeline cannot be altered to meet to tool running
specifications.

Minimal bend radius for detection of metal loss anomalies as given in Table A5-2 NA
Minimal bend radius for sizing accuracy for metal loss anomalies as given in Table A5-2 NA
Minimal bend radius for detection of crack or crack-like anomalies as given in Table A5-3 NA
Minimal bend radius for sizing accuracy of crack or crack-like anomalies as given in Table A5-3 NA
* If the bend radius in the pipeline is smaller than given in the table, then applicable specifications for that bend radius
shall additionally be provided in the form of Tables A5-2 or A5-3
Table A5-7: Mapping tool accuracy and horizontal and vertical accuracy of pipeline location as function of
marker distance and certainty.
*This accuracy can be improved upon to “meters accuracy” when markers are used and/or when DGPS
reference measurements can be made perhaps in combination with an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) on
board of the inspection pig.
