The Missing Homework Mystery
Max: (Pacing back and forth) This is bad, really bad. If we don’t find my
homework, I’m doomed!
Jake: (Grinning) Hey, maybe your dog ate it! Isn’t that what always
happens on TV?
Sam: (Worried) No joke, Jake! Mrs. Wilson’s gonna be so mad if Max
doesn’t have his homework. She’s already given us three warnings!
Leo: (Calmly) Alright, everyone relax. We just need to think logically.
Max, where did you last see your homework?
Max: (Frustrated) I had it right here, on my desk! I swear it was here
before lunch, but now... it’s gone!
Jake: (Looking around suspiciously) Maybe it grew legs and walked
away. Or maybe... (pointing dramatically) it was stolen!
Sam: (Gasping) Stolen? Who would steal homework? That’s like, the
worst thing ever!
Leo: (Nodding) Jake might actually have a point. Maybe someone took
it as a prank. But who?
Max: (Clenching fists) When I find out who did this...
Jake: (Grinning) We’ll make them do our homework for a week!
Sam: (Gulps) Or we’ll end up with even more missing homework...
Leo: (Thoughtfully) We need to search for clues. Let’s divide and
conquer. Max, check the desk area. Jake, check the lockers. Sam and I
will go through the lost-and-found box.
Max: (Determined) Right! Let’s solve this mystery before it’s too late!
(They all split up and start searching different areas of the classroom.)
Max: (Excitedly) Guys! I found it! My homework was hiding under these
books!
(The boys rush over.)
Leo: (Smiling) See? Logic always wins.
Jake: (Grinning) Or maybe the books were plotting against you!
Sam: (Sigh of relief) Thank goodness. Now we won’t have to face Mrs.
Wilson’s wrath.
Max: (Grinning) Thanks, everyone. You’re the best detectives a guy
could ask for.
Jake: (Jokingly) Detective Jake, at your service! Mystery solved, case
closed!
(They all high-five each other and laugh.)
Leo: Alright, let’s head home before the next mystery is where we
disappeared to after school!
(The boys gather their things and walk out, still laughing and joking.)
