Organization
The tournament will be played on a league cum knock out basis.

League Phase
There are 10 groups. Each group will have 3 teams. Each team will play the other teams in their group
once in the league phase. All teams will play 2 matches in the league phase.

Selection of teams for knock out

Classification of teams in the league phase and the selection criteria for 6 second best team:
a. The team with the most points will top the group.
b. If points are equal, the teams with better NRR will be placed higher.
c. If the NRR* is equal, then the teams will be ordered based on the number of wickets taken.
d. If still equal, then the teams will be ordered based on the spin of the coin.

*NRR = (total number of runs scored by the team /total number of overs faced by the team) –
(total number of runs scored by the opponents/total number of overs bowled to the opponents)
NRR is taken up to 3 decimal places and no rounding

✓ The group toppers from A to J (10 teams in total) will qualify for the pre-quarterfinals and will be
seeded 1-10 based on NRR.
✓ Group runners from A to J will be seeded 11-16 based on NRR. During the league phase, each win
would fetch two points, a tie one point and a loss zero points.
✓ In the league phase, each match will be of a maximum of 10 overs a side.
In pre-quarterfinals and quarterfinals, each game will be of a maximum of 12 overs-a-side and in
the semi-finals and finals it will be of 16 overs-a-side
o In the league phase, each bowler is allowed to bowl a maximum of 2 overs
o In pre-quarters and quarters - two bowlers are allowed to bowl a maximum of 3 overs.
o In the semi-finals and finals - two bowlers are allowed to bowl a maximum of 4 overs.
✓ The time allotted to bowl 10 overs is 40 minutes, 12 overs is 48 minutes and 16 overs is 64
minutes. If this is not adhered to, then the umpires will decide on the number of overs that need
to be reduced for the team batting second based on delay. The umpire's decision is final and no
review on this will be entertained.
Tied Match
In the league phase, points will be shared.

In the knockout phase, Super Over (3 Batsmen allowed) will decide the winner, and in case of a Tie again
one more Super Over (with 3 new Batsmen and 1 new Bowler) will decide the winner. If the 2nd Super
Over is also tied, the winner will be decided based on no. of wickets lost. The team which has lost the least
number of wickets across two super overs will be declared the winner. If still tied the number of
boundaries scored will be declared a winner. If still tied, then the winner will be declared based on the
spin of the coin.

Match Scheduling
League round schedule is already shared with the teams. There would be 5 or 6 matches per day during
the league phase.

During the league or knockout phase, when a scheduled match with the full stipulated overs cannot be
held due to any constraints(i.e. rain), the match will be reduced to a lesser number of overs. The number
of overs per match and the number of overs per bowler will be decided by the umpires/match referee.

For league matches:

Option1: 8 over match (2 bowlers can bowl max 2 over)
Option2: 6 over match (2 bowlers can bowl max 2 over)
Option3: 3 Over Super Match with up to 4 wickets (1 bowler can bowl max 1 over)
Option4: 1 Over Super over (same as international rule), if it’s tie, than 1 point will be awarded.

For knock-out matches:Option1: 10 over match (each bowler can bowl max 2 over)
Other options will be same as league matches.

Match Start
1. Before every game, the captain of each team has to report at least 30 minutes before the match
and create a CricHeroes profile for all the 11 players with Substitutes. A minimum of 8 players
must be registered to be able to play. No change to the team is permitted after the toss.
2. The match referee will take a photograph of the full team before the commencement of the
match. In case the full team is not available at the start the remaining players will be
photographed during the innings break.
3. To start a match, both teams should have at least 7 players. The remaining players can join the
match in play before the completion of half of the first innings. The fielding team remaining
players should join before half of the overs of the first innings are completed, otherwise, the
player cannot play.
4. If a match cannot start even after 15 min of scheduled time owing to a minimum of seven players
not being available (batting or bowling team) the match will be abandoned, and a walkover will
be given to the eligible team. In case both teams are not eligible no points will be awarded to
either of the teams.
5. If previous match has finished early start of the match will be preponed accordingly and Rule 4
will be applicable from new start time of the match.
6. In a situation where one team has 8 or more people and the other 7 players, the team with 8 or
more players will be awarded a walk-over. But, if both the teams agree, they can play the match
with the full knowledge that there can be more players joining the team with 7 players. In case a
team has less than 7 people, then neither captain has an option and a walk-over will be awarded
by the umpires.
7. In situations where players join the game late, they will not be allowed to
• To Bowl till the time/overs they have fielded.
• Will bat only after the number of overs they have been off the field or 5 wickets down,
whichever is earlier.

Players Composition
✓ Each person playing for a team shall play for the same BU.
✓ Each person shall play in only one team during the entire tournament.
✓ If any of the above two clauses are not followed, any team can appeal to the organizing
committee. If the organizing committee finds this true, the non-following team will be disqualified
from the tournament.
✓ It is the captain’s responsibility to ensure that his team members comply with all the rules.
✓ In the case of disqualification of a team in the league phase match points and NRR will remain
unchanged. The group standings alone within the group will change.
✓ In case of disqualification of a team in the knockout phase, the other team will proceed. Such
appeals must be brought forward before the commencement of the next stage. If reported later
only the team in question will be disqualified and no retrospective changes to results will be
entertained.

Incomplete matches in League and Knock-out Phase

1. In the league phase, if at least half the overs are not completed in the second innings of the match
and the match has to be stopped owing to any reason both teams will be awarded one point. No
continued play on an alternate day will be held. Every attempt will be made to finish the match
with available resources. Organizers decision will be final.
2. During the knock-out phase, if at least half the first innings of the match are not complete, the
match will be replayed from start with lesser numbers of overs if need be as decided by organizers.
3. During knockout or league if the match has completed at least half of the second innings the
CricHeros App Par score will be applied.

Teams reaching the knock-out stage should be ready to play 2 matches over the same day once till Semi-
Finals.

If a quarter-final match cannot be completed to get a result – as suggested in incomplete matches in

League and Knock-out Phase section above, that match and the corresponding semi-finals will be
rescheduled in the following week.
If a Semi-Final match cannot be completed to get a result – as suggested in incomplete matches in League
and Knock-out Phase section above, that match will be rescheduled for the following week.

The location/rules of the rescheduled matches (in all knock-out matches) may be different from the
normal rules and will be communicated to the parties concerned.

Walkover
Walkover is not entertained. In case of a walkover the opponent team will be awarded 2 points, and this
doesn’t impact the NRR.

If a team gives a walkover, team players will be banned from playing in the next tournament. To avoid a
ban, team players need to come to the ground. The remaining players will be banned.

LBW and Leg byes

There will be no LBW and leg bye throughout the tournament. There will not be any chance for run-out
for the fielding side in case of attempted leg byes.
Apart from the above exception, all standard ICC cricket rules will be followed.

Restriction on the placement of fieldsmen

At the time of delivery
a) A minimum of four fielders will be allowed to stand inside the 30-yard circle throughout the match
(except Powerplay overs).
b) Not more than five fielders will be allowed to stand on the leg side/off the side of the batsman
throughout the match.
c) No player is allowed to move from their position, only forward movement is allowed till the ball
is bowled.
Infringement of the above-mentioned restrictions (rules) would be called a “no ball” by the umpire.

Powerplay

If it's 12 over game or 10 Over game, First 3 overs are powerplay overs and only 3 fielders are allowed
outside the 30-yard circle.
Infringement of the above-mentioned restrictions would be called a “no ball” by the umpire.

If it's 16 over game or 14 over game , first 4 overs are powerplay overs and only 3 fielders are allowed
outside the 30-yard circle.
Infringement of the above-mentioned restrictions would be called a “no ball” by the umpire.

Bouncer
Only 1 bouncer is allowed in an over.
Balls
New/ Used Wilson tennis balls will be used in the tournament. Both teams will get an equal condition ball.

Chucking
If the umpire feels that the bowler is chucking (throwing the ball), a warning will be issued and on
subsequent infringement, the umpire will tell the captain to remove the bowler from bowling. The over
will be finished by another bowler from the team. In any case, none of the bowlers would bowl more than
the maximum overs allotted in the match.

No Balls
Free-hit will be awarded to all types of no balls.

Spirit
Umpire / Referee's decision is final and binding.

Disqualification
Teams can be disqualified if there is unruly behaviour on the ground, which will bring disrepute to HPE
Company. Respect the umpires and the officials. Requesting teams to show the right sportsmanship on
the ground.

The teams are requested to play the game in the spirit of the game and follow the right behaviour.

If any team objects to the on field decision and the match is not resumed (maximum wait time of 10
minutes), the other team will be declared as a winner.

Participation of players
In case someone rotates to a different BU during the tournament then they can:
a) Choose to play in the new team if they have not played a game with the earlier BU.
b) If they have already played a game for the old team they can continue to play in the old BU for the
complete tournament.

In either case, the captain of the player has to inform the organizing committee about the change. Except
for this, we would not entertain any cross BU participation in the tournament.

The decision of the organizers is final and binding.

Wishing all the teams good luck!
