NARRATIVE REPORT ON TREE PLANTING

Mamaanun Primary School joins the National simultaneous Tree Planting


“DEPED’S 236,000 TREE-A CHRISTMAS GIFT FOR THE CHILDREN” on December 6,
2023.
The objective of the tree planting event at Mamaanun Primary School was to
promote environmental awareness and sustainability among the students and the
local community. It aimed to educate the participants about the importance of trees
in mitigating climate change, conserving biodiversity, and enhancing the overall
environmental quality.
Participants: the event involved the participation of 10 seedlings, provided by
our School-Head along with students, teachers, and volunteers from the school and
the local community. The program had a diverse range of participants, including
students from different grade levels, teachers, parents, and community leaders.
Activities: the tree planting events was a collaborative effort that commenced
with a brief introduction about the significance of trees. Our School-Head gave a short
presentation on the importance of tree planting and its positive impact on the
environment. This was followed by a demonstration of the proper techniques for
planting and nurturing young trees.
The participants were divided into groups, and each group was assigned a
specific area within the school grounds where they would plant their seedlings. With
the help of teachers and volunteers, the students dug holes, placed the seedlings
carefully, and backfilled the soil while ensuring proper spacing between each tree.
The participants were also taught how to water and care for the newly planted trees.
Notable moments: several notable moments added enthusiasm to the event.
The students actively engaged in the tree planting process, showcasing their keen
interest and excitement. They asked questions about the different tree species, their
life cycles, and the benefits they provide to the environment.
Impact: the tree planting event at Mamaanun Primary School provided
numerous benefits to both the environment and the participants. The students
learned valuable lessons about the importance of trees, ecosystems, and their role in
combatting climate change. They gained firsthand experience in planting trees and
acquired essential skills in nurturing and caring for them.
The event also contributed to the beautification of the school grounds,
providing shade and aesthetic value. The newly planted seedling will gradually grow
into mature trees, offering environmental benefits such as air purification, soil
conversation, and habitat creation for wildlife.
Conclusion: overall, the tree planting event at Mamaanun Primary School was
a resounding success, fostering environmental consciousness and imparting
knowledge to the participants. By instilling a sense of responsibility towards our
natural surroundings, this initiative will have a lasting impact on the students,
teachers, and the wider community.
It sets an example for other schools and communities to follow, encouraging them to
recognized the significance of trees in sustaining a healthier planet.
