2 Indicator lamp & press button

LPC-3597 Display operation module

Indicator lamp
Lamp Definition Color
Run The indicator lamp is for motor running. The lamp is dark when Green
motor is halted; the lamp blinks when motor starts, the lamp is
green when motor is under normal working status.
Com The indicator lamp is for filed bus communication. When one of Green
RS485/CAN/PROFIBUS networks work and report successfully,
the lamp is green; when abnormal, the lamp is dark.
Remote The indicator lamp is for control limits of authority. When device is Green
under local status, the lamp is dark; when device is under remote
status, the lamp is green.
Alarm The indicator lamp is for alarm. When device does protection Red
actions (alarm or trip), the lamp is red, will be dark after reset.
Fault The indicator lamp is for self checking. When device is abnormal Red
after self checking, the lamp is red, will be dark after reset.
Note 1: when device is under running status, indicator lamps shall indicate as mentioned in above
table; when device is under debugging & commissioning or when power is just switched on,
all the indicator lamps are lighted.

debugging software; when using,typical wire will be used to connected with

LPC-3598 Display operation module

Indicator lamp

Run The indicator lamp shows the status of the device. The lamp is Green
green when device is under running status; the lamp is dark
when device is under debugging status.

3 Device LED display description


3.1 Default display screen (taking LPC-3531 as example)

The LED main display screen is as follow when device is under normal running status:

In the main screen, user can press “CANCEL” button and go into the main Menu, also can

press the “S/(A)” button or other control buttons to operate the device as per requirements.

3.2 Control operation of main screen

In the main screen, when device is under local status, user can do the control operation
(start/stop the motor) or reset the device.
① Control operation, take Startup A as example, as below:

After pressing the S/(A) button, the LED screen will show as below:

If quitting the “start A” control operation is required at this stage, please press “Cancel”

button, the LED display returns back to main screen, the control operation is cancelled this

time.

If confirming the “start A” control operation, please press “OK” button, the LED display

returns back to main screen, the control operation is done this time.

② Reset operation

Pressing the “reset” button, the LED displays as below:

The resetting operation is done this time.

4 Device Menu Description


In the main screen, press the “Cancel” button and return to the main Menu interface then

as below:

Via using the up/down button to choose the required function, then press “OK” to enter into

4.4 Clearing the report

Clearing the report by category, including clear all the report, clear the action report, clear
the position changing report, clear abnormal report, clear the running report, clear the
control report, clear the starting report. After selecting the wanted clear option, then
confirm via press the “OK” button, input the required password, then clearing the report
will be done.

4.5 System info

Including the software version of the main module and display module, check code,

 Analog quantity output setting: set the signal quantity related to 4-20mA output.

“4-20mA output” is used for the setting the signal quantity related to 4-20mA output,

settable as: NA,(Not available),IA, IB, IC, Iav, Uab, Ubc, Uca, Uav, f. “AO1 Ratio”

means the multiple of the full range of the signal quantity related to 4-20mA. If setting

“Ia” as the signal quantity, and the ratio is set as “1.0”, the rated current of device is 5A,

then 20mA means 5A, if the ratio is set as “1.2”, then 20mA means 5A*1.2=6A, the

range of the ratio is 0.8-1.2.

primary CT shall be equipped outside. The outside CT ratio and the outside zero

4.8 View menu

This menu is used for viewing the engineering selection, DI predefinition, DO predefinition,

I/O normal open or normal close, PLC logic and communication supervision. These info could

be viewed and revised when entering into “Device debugging” menu. For the stable running of

the load, when motor is under startup or running status, the “debugging menu” could not be

entered.

The engineering selection, DI predefinition, DO predefinition, I/O normal open or normal

close, PLC logic will be described in device debugging later.

“Communication supervision” including NET1 statistics data, NET2 statistics data, DBG

statistics data, GPS statistics data, take NET1 statistics data as an example:

4.9 Device debugging

Device has two status: debugging status and running status. When entering in to the
“debugging” menu, the device is under debugging status.
Exiting the “debugging” status, the device will be restarted and back to running status.
There are below sub menu under device debugging: measurement accuracy-automatic,
protection accuracy-manual, measurement accuracy-manual, generating SOE, initiating the wave
record, DO checking, 4-20mA output, engineering configuration.

 Protection accuracy-automatic: automatically check the protection accuracy. Apply the

rated voltage and rated current, then press “OK” button to check as below screen snap

shows:

 Measurement accuracy-automatic: automatically check the measurement accuracy. The

checking method is the same to protection accuracy-automatic.

 Protection accuracy-manual: manually check the measurement accuracy. Apply the rated

voltage and rated current, check the measurement accuracy of each channel one by one.

 Generating SOE: can simulate and generate kinds of SOE, including position-change

report, abnormal report, action report, running report, control report, start/stop report.

 Analogue output test: for testing the 4-20mA output. After entering the menu, edit the

required 4-20mA value, press “OK”, then the device will output the related DC quantity.

Note: when doing this test, please set the “related quantity” in the “analogue output” of

“system setting” as “NA-not available”.

 Engineering configuration: including engineering selection, PLC logic, DI definition,

DO definition, Normal open/normal close setting, and default setting.

④ DI NO/NC settings

Set for the NO/NC of DI1-DI12 channels. Setting “NC” means negating the DI. Note: choose

the “allowed” in the “selection of DI NO/NC” of “engineering configuration” before setting

the DI NO/NC.

⑥ recovering the default setting: make the device values, system settings, engineering

configurations, accuracy factors, etc to be the default values.

5 Device self checking information


The device has complete self-check function, when fault happens during self-checking, the

device will automatically indicate the related abnormal status, record the fault message, send

“device fault” signal, and do the interlock protection as per abnormal situations. Below is the

definition of the common abnormal status/situations.

6 Device debugging and commissioning


6.1 Common fault and treatment measure

1. Display module indicates “Communication fault, check the connection”, which means there is

communication fault between main module and display module. The reasons and treatment

measures are:

1) Check the wiring connection between main module and display module, confirming the

wiring connection is fixed and not loosened.

2) Check whether there is fault with the main module, if there are below faults (the running

lamp of main module does not blink, the field bus communication does not work, the

device cannot work properly, please contact the manufacturer.

2. LPC-3597 device “alarm” lamp lighting:

1) There is protection trip or protection alarm, please refer to “action report” for details, if

required, please contact the manufacturer.

3. LPC-3597 device “fault” lamp lighting:

1) There is the self check fault, please refer to “abnormal report” for details, if required,

please contact the manufacturer.

4. LPC-3598 device “fault” lamp lighting:

1) There is protection trip or protection alarm or device self checking fault, please refer to

“action report” or “abnormal report” for details, if required, please contact the

manufacturer.

5. LPC-3599 device “alarm” lamp lighting:

1) There is protection action or protection alarm, please refer to “action report” for details,

if required, please contact the manufacturer.

6. LPC-3599 device “fault” lamp lighting:

1) There is the self check fault, please refer to “abnormal report” for details, if required,

please contact the manufacturer.

7. The device power-on clock cannot be saved:

1) The button battery for clock chip is not installed or with a low battery, please changes a

new button battery.

2) The clock chip is destroyed, please contact the manufacturer.

8. The time showed in the device clock is inaccurate:

1) Wrongly set the clock time, please reset the clock time correctly;

2) The button battery for clock chip is with a low battery, please changes a new button

battery.

3) The device communication or GPS clock time is inaccurate;

9. “Clock” abnormal:

1) The device clock has not done the initiating settings, please set the current clock

correctly;

2) After setting the clock correctly, the device lose voltage and restart again, if still indicates

that “clock” is abnormal, it may be the problem with the clock chip, please contact the

manufacturer.
