For Option 8 (Program Remote Functions), programming the key fob's remote functions (like
lock/unlock) does not directly enable you to start the car. The remote functions and the immobilizer
system (which allows the car to start) are two separate systems.
- The transponder chip in the key must be correctly programmed to the vehicle's immobilizer system
- Option 8 is only for programming remote functions (lock, unlock, trunk release, etc.).
If you've already completed the key programming in Steps 4-6, the car should be able to start once
the transponder chip is successfully paired with the car's immobilizer system.
- Insert the original key (if available) and turn the ignition to the ON position.
3. Connect the KM100:
- Plug the OBD2 cable into the car's OBD2 port or pair Bluetooth VCI.
- Either input vehicle make/model or use Auto Detect for quick identification.
- The KM100 guides you through programming the blank key transponder.
