Key Programming with Autel KM100

Key Programming with Autel KM100

For Option 8 (Program Remote Functions), programming the key fob's remote functions (like

lock/unlock) does not directly enable you to start the car. The remote functions and the immobilizer

system (which allows the car to start) are two separate systems.

To Start the Car:

- The transponder chip in the key must be correctly programmed to the vehicle's immobilizer system

(done in Steps 4-6).

- Option 8 is only for programming remote functions (lock, unlock, trunk release, etc.).

If you've already completed the key programming in Steps 4-6, the car should be able to start once

the transponder chip is successfully paired with the car's immobilizer system.

Fastest Method for Key Programming:

1. Gather Required Materials:

- Autel KM100 device (fully charged and up to date).

- Blank key (compatible with the vehicle, transponder or remote).

- OBD2 Cable or Bluetooth VCI for connection.

2. Turn on the Vehicle:

- Insert the original key (if available) and turn the ignition to the ON position.
3. Connect the KM100:

- Plug the OBD2 cable into the car's OBD2 port or pair Bluetooth VCI.

4. Select Key Programming:

- Choose "Add Key" or "All Keys Lost" depending on the scenario.

5. Identify the Vehicle:

- Either input vehicle make/model or use Auto Detect for quick identification.

6. Follow On-Screen Instructions:

- The KM100 guides you through programming the blank key transponder.

7. Test the Key:

- Once programmed, test the key to ensure it starts the vehicle.

8. Program Remote Functions (Optional):

- For key fob functions (lock/unlock), follow the additional programming.

9. Verify:

- Test ignition and remote functions.
