ReefLink Diagnostic LED Chart
As shown above, the ReefLink has six (6) LEDs, each representing a distinct software module. Currently, each LED can be
Green, Yellow/Amber, Red or White.
Blue
If all LEDs are Blue, the ReefLink is connected to the user’s network and EcoSmart Live.
Green
Green indicates a valid/successful condition. This applies to all LEDs.
Yellow

2 Config Files N/A N/A N/A
3 RF Module N/A N/A N/A
4 Ethernet Valid, but not in use Using Wifi N/A
5 Wifi Valid, but not in use Using Ethernet N/A
6 ESL Connection Reconnecting Lost connection Wait up to 30 seconds to
reconnect. If still yellow, factory
reset and setup
Red
LED # Module Meaning Cause Remedy
1 OS Init OS Init Failure Multiple causes Soft reset. If that doesn’t work,
factory reset and setup
2 Config Files Invalid Config - Invalid config files Factory reset and setup
- Corrupt SD card
3 RF Module RF Module Failure - RF module is not present Soft reset first. If that doesn’t
- Faulty hardware work, open the ReefLink and
reset the RF module
4 Ethernet Hardware or Internet - Ethernet hardware failed to Soft reset and check the Internet
Failure initialize connection
- Not connected to the Internet
5 Wifi Hardware or Internet - Wifi hardware failed to Soft reset and check the internet
Failure initialize connection
- Not connected to the Internet
6 ESL Connection Not Connected - Lost connection Wait up to 30 seconds to
- Invalid login reconnect. If still red, factory
- ESL server is down or under reset and setup
