Paris. We arrive Paris where after clearing customs we are met by our Parisian Tour Escort and Driver. We enjoy a panoramic tour of Paris. The tour will help you discover Paris and its history through the city's major landmarks and monuments. Some of the highlights include; Arch of Triumph and Champs-Elyses, Concorde Square, the Invalides, Eiffel Tower and Trocadero, Opera, Notre-Dame Cathedral, Vendome Square, Montmartre with Sacred Heart Basilica and the famous Place du Tertre, Louvre Museum and Madeleine Church. We then check into our hotel. The rest of the day you are free. Overnight Kyriad Bercy Village Hotel. Paris. Enjoy the day on your own. Discover well known Parisian areas such as The Latin Quarter, Montmartre, and Opera and of course stroll the famous Grand Boulevard, The Champs Elyses. Overnight Kyriad Bercy Village Hotel. Paris-Chartres-Rennes. After breakfast we depart Paris. We travel via Chartres a small city in the Centre Val de Loire region. The main attraction for most visitors to Chartres is the 12th century cathedral, considered by many art historians to be the finest surviving example from the High Gothic period. We continue via Le Mans to Rennes. Rennes is the capital of the region of Brittany, in France. It has a long history due to its location at the confluence of two rivers. The eastern Armorican people of Redones founded Condate an ancient Celtic word meaning confluent at the confluence of the Ille and Vilaine rivers and made it the capital of a territory that extended to the Bay of Mont Saint-Michel. Time to explore. Overnight Mercure Centre Parliament Rennes Hotel. Rennes. After breakfast we enjoy a day tour of Rennes. for a tour of the Cathedral, the Mordelaises gates, the Place des Lices square, the rue de La Psalette and the rue du Chapitre, Saint Yves Chapel, the squares in front of the Htel de Ville and the Parliament. The rest of the day you are free Overnight Mercure Centre Parliament Rennes Hotel. (Private Performance Room this evening) Rennes-Quimper-Brest After breakfast we depart Rennes and travel to Quimper. We walk around the town to see the historic cathedral and timbered houses. east via Saint Briec to Brest. Brest is a large port city in France. During the times of the World War II it was used as a military base. German submarines were kept there. Afternoon is free. Overnight Continental Hotel. Brest-Ferry to Cork. After breakfast you have the majority of the day on your own. We have a late afternoon departure as the Ferry departs in the evening. Overnight on Ferry. Cork-Kinsale-Clonakilty-Skibbereeen-Bantry-Glengarriff-Kenmare. We meet our Irish Driver Guide at the Ferry Port of Cork. We make our way to Kinsale where we enjoy some free time to wander the artisan streets of this delightful seaside town. We will then depart Kinsale for Clonakilty where castles dot the shores of the bay and The Catholic Church is a fine example of gothic architecture. Next stop is Skibbereen. Skibbereen is rightly known as the capital of West Cork. It is the "hub" from which the many "sparkling jewels" of the area can be reached. Bantry sits at the head of one of Irelands most beautiful bays with a harbor that reaches right into the town center. We then head to Glengarriff. Located in the sheltered harbor of Glengarriff in Bantry Bay, in Southwest Ireland, Garnish Island is a small island of 37 acres known to horticulturists and lovers of trees and shrubs all around the world as an island garden of great beauty. Its sheltered position nurtures luxuriant Mediterranean flowers such as fuchsia and arbutus. We enjoy a ferry ride and tour of the island. It is then on to Kenmare. Known as Ceann Mara (Head of The Sea) by the ancients. We stop at the Irish Lace Center. Dinner and overnight Kenmare Bay Hotel Kenmare... Ring of Kerry. After breakfast we start on a full day tour of The Ring. There is an unspoiled nature to Ireland's most beautiful region and the Ring of Kerry provides many unforgettable memories as it passes through the many picturesque villages such as Glenbeigh, Waterville and Sneem and returns via Ladies View and the famous Lakes of Killarney. We enjoy some free time in Killarney before returning to Kenmare. Overnight Kenmare Bay Hotel Kenmare... Kenmare-Adare-Limerick-Galway. After a full Irish Breakfast we depart Kenmare and travel north first stopping at Adare, once voted The Prettiest Village with its authentic thatched roof cottages. We continue through Limerick, Irelands 3rd largest city and home to author Frank McCourt who wrote Angelas Ashes. Limerick is an area steeped in history. The origin of Limerick city dates back to the 9th century a site settled by the Vikings. Limerick City is known as "City of the Broken Treaty", due to the treaty which was signed surrendering the city to William. The terms of the treaty included respect for the rights of Catholics were immediately breached. The treaty was signed on the Treaty Stone which can still be seen today. King Johns Castle is a fortified 13th century Castle on Kings Island in the heart of medieval Limerick. The castle overlooking the river Shannon opens an exciting window on the lives and stories of the people through political upheaval, war and famine. Archaeological excavations open to the public roll back the mists of time to pre-Norman houses which predate the castle by 100 years, as well as siege mines, garrison and soldiers quarters and sallyport all found under the level of the present courtyard. The castle itself features an imaginative exhibition spanning the castles history. We depart County Limerick and travel to County Galway. Galway is a thriving town noted for its cultural scene, traditional Irish music sessions and home of the famous Claddagh Ring. Overnight Imperial Hotel Galway. Burren Tour. Today after breakfast we may take a tour of Irelands stony place - the Burren (Bhoireann). It is home to rare alpine plants, delicate wonders that grow in the thin soil and crevices - gentians, orchids and maidenhair ferns amongst others. The survival of both alpine and Mediterranean plants in this unusual habitat continues to arouse and to delight its visitors. The Burren contains dozens of megalithic tombs, celtic crosses and a ruined Cistercian Abbey dating from the 12th century, Corcomroe. You can find villages abandoned since famine times and green
