Problems

1.For a uniform transmission line, the open and short circuit Impedances are
given by Zoc =50 +j 25, Zsc =60-j20 Find Zo of the line.

2. A transmission line of 710 ∠14degree Ω characteristic Impedance, length 100 km is


terminated in 300 Ω. Its propagation constant is 0.0007 +j0.028 per km. Find the input
impedance of the line.

3.Evaluate the equivalent lumped element parameters of a lossless short


circuited line of different lengths such as l = λ/8, l = λ/4, l = 5λ/16, l =
3λ/8 and l = λ/2.

4.A 100 Ω loss less line connects a signal of 100KHz to load of 140 Ω. The
load power is 100 mW. Calculate,
(i)Voltage reflection coefficient. (ii)VSWR. (iii) Position of
Vmax,Vmin,Imax and Imin

5. Α 50 Ω loss less line connects a signal of 50 KHz to a load of 140 Ω. The


load power is 75 Mw. Calculate,

6.A 60 ohm lossless line is 30 m long and is terminated with a load of 75 +


50 ohms at 3 MHz. Find its reflection coefficient, VSWR, Z MAX and ZMIN if the
line velocity is 60% of the velocity of light.

7.A low loss transmission line of 100 characteristics impedance is connected


to a load of 400 Ω. Calculate the reflection coefficient and standing wave
ratio.

8.Find the input impedance of a 750 lossless transmission line of length

match the antenna to the line. Give the values.

100 + j650 Ω the frequency of operation Is 60MHz. Find the length and
location of a single stub needed for impedance match.
16.The VSWR measured of UHF transmission line, working at a frequency of
300 MHz is found to be 2. If the distance between load and voltage minimum
is 0.8 meter. Calculate the value of load Impedance.
