Machine Learning and Its

Applications

ROLL NO 37-48
What is Machine Learning?

Machine Learning is a subset of AI that allows

systems to learn and improve from data
without being explicitly programmed.

Applications of Machine Learning include

image recognition, natural language
processing, and fraud detection.

Machine Learning algorithms can be

supervised, unsupervised, or semi-supervised
depending on the type of data being used.
Types of Machine
Learning
1.Supervised Learning
Supervised learning is the types of machine
learning in which machines are trained using well
"labelled" training data, and on basis of that data,
machines predict the output.

In supervised learning, the training data provided

to the machines work as the supervisor that
teaches the machines to predict the output
correctly.
Types of Machine
Learning
2.Unsupervised Learning

Unsupervised learning is a type of machine

learning in which models are trained using
unlabeled dataset and are allowed to act on that
data without any supervision.

It is a technique in which models itself find the

hidden patterns and insights from the given data
and tries to solve the problem.
Types of Machine
Learning
3.Reinforncement Learning
Reinforcement learning is a type of machine
learning where an agent learns to act in an
environment in order to maximize a reward.

The agent does this by trial and error, receiving

feedback from the environment in the form of
rewards and punishments. Over time, the agent
learns to associate certain actions with certain
rewards, and it will eventually be able to act in a
way that maximizes its rewards.
Applications of
Machine Learning
Image and speech recognition, enabling virtual
assistants like Siri and Alexa.

Fraud detection in financial transactions and

credit scoring.

Personalized recommendations in e-commerce,

entertainment and social media.
Fraud
Detection
Machine learning can help detect
fraudulent credit card transactions in
real-time, saving companies and
consumers from financial loss and
stress.
Recommendation
Systems
Recommendation systems use
machine learning to provide
personalized recommendations,
increasing customer engagement
and sales for businesses.
Image
Recognition
Computer vision technology is used
in image recognition to identify and
analyze objects within an image or
video. Applications include self-
driving cars, security systems, and
medical imaging.
Agriculture
Crop yield prediction: ML can be used to
predict crop yields based on factors such as
weather, soil conditions, and crop variety.

This information can help farmers to make

better decisions about planting, irrigation,
and fertilization.
Stock
Prediction
Machine learning is used to make
investment decisions, predict market
trends, and manage risk.

This technology is being used to help

investors make more informed decisions
and improve their returns.
Natural Language
Processing
Natural Language Processing helps computers
understand and interpret human language, making
communication more efficient and effective.
Autonomous
Vehicles
SELF-DRIVING CARS USE MACHINE
LEARNING ALGORITHMS TO PERCEIVE
THEIR ENVIRONMENT AND NAVIGATE
SAFELY. THEY CAN REDUCE ACCIDENTS
AND TRAFFIC CONGESTION.
