Recommendations

• The ABC ballast system should be installed according to recommendations of this document
and with dedicated components only. If not, it will void the manufacturer warranty.

• Products designed to use on a flat roofs and grounds, inclination of the flat roof can’t be higher than 5 degrees.

• Installation with our ballast system on soft membrane roofs isn’t recommended.

• Our ballast system is only intended to be installed by qualified persons with the appropriate knowledge
and experience in the installation of photovoltaic systems on flat roofs / grounds.

• The load capacity of the roof should be verified and a static calculations made.

• The ballasting arrangement shown in this document is only an example.

It shouldn’t be regarded as a recommendation, as each installation in terms of location and prevailing
wind conditions is an individual matter, don’t rely on universal calculations.
Minimum is 75 kg+ per one side of the module, for cascade system minimum is 125 kg+ per one side of the module.
For each country values of required ballast will be different!

People who involved in the design of the photovoltaic system must be choose ballast for each installation,
it must be based on Eurocode or applicable standard for each country.

• Installation of each PV module on ABC ballast system without any module dimensions limits are possible.
It’s important to install the PV module in the correct clamping zone, check installation manual of your module.

• Don’t make any modifications of the products yourself.

• It’s recommended to use additional underlay to protect the roof covering, it should be placed
under the A, B or C element. For underlay universal EPDM or roofing material can be used.

• PV modules can’t be installed at the roof edge, the spacing from roof edge should be in accordance with
building regulations in your country.

• Safety regulations in your country should be respected while you are working.

• For calculating the best row spacings, use the tool available on the website: www.abcsystem.eu/spacings

[HS]: A+B 18° / B+C 18° - Installation manual

1
Prepare the A/B/C elements.
Place aluminum rail on A/B/C element.
Insert M8 hex bolt into socket of A/B/C element and screw the nut.

2
Arrange the elements on the surface at the correct distances.
All elements must be in a straight line. X

X
X = (your PV module width) - 180 mm
Y
Y = compatible with module clamping zone

3
Place a ballast block on A/B/C elements,
modules installation will be easier.

4
Slip-on special nut from the side of aluminum rail,
Use required mounting clamp.

Mid element:
place the PV module on rail and put on middle clamp.
Edge element:
put a bottom part of mounting clamp on rail,
then place the PV module on bottom part of clamp
mid element edge element
and put on upper part of clamp.
(two modules connector)

5
Insert M8 allen screw in mounting clamp and tighten it into special nut
with maxium torque 12 Nm.

6
Place appropriate quantity of ballast blocks on A/B/C elements.
Quantity of ballast elements are depends of your project.
Installation location and height is very important for safety.
