ABSTRACT
This study was carried out among 180 first year students of Libon
Community College in Libon, Albay. A quantitative research method was
employed in this study. We used a survey questionnaire checklist utilizing a 4-
point Likert scale. Upon treating the gathered data, the researcher found that
most of the first year students are not fully developed in terms of their moral
awareness. Lacking awareness about moral development can have profound
implications on both individual and societal levels. Without a conscious
understanding of how moral values and ethical principles evolve, individuals may
struggle to navigate complex moral dilemmas, leading to decisions that are not
aligned with broader social norms or justice principles. This gap in awareness
can result in actions that are selfish, harmful, or unjust, fostering environments
where unethical behavior becomes normalized. Societally, the absence of a
collective commitment to fostering moral growth can undermine the foundations
of trust, cooperation, and social cohesion, potentially leading to increased
conflicts, social inequities, and a general decline in the quality of interpersonal
relationships and community life
