SUBJECT: CITIZENSHIP AND LEADERSHIP TRAINING CENTRE


(FEDERAL MINISTRY OF YOUTH AND SPORTS DEVELOPMENT)
2024 LEADERSHIP/SKILL ACQUISITION TRAINING PROGRAMME

As a usual tradi on in St. Augus ne's College New Karu, Nasarawa State, we find it per nent to build our
students in areas of academic excellence, sound morals and discipline. We are also concerned about the
leadership quali es of our students. By this therefore, we are pleased to bring to your no ce that the
leadership training programme this year may either be in Abuja or Jos as captured above.
The scheme amongst other training opportuni es is to arm our wards with pragma c leadership skills that
would further enhance their effec veness if saddled with responsibili es, hence it is mandatory for all SS2
students.
The training emphasizes five core values including: character development, adventure and challenge,
compassion and service, social and environmental responsibili es and skill acquisi on.
PLANNED ACTIVITIES TOWARDS THE ATTAINMENT OF THESE CORE VALUES
1. Lectures on drug and substance abuse, bullying, moral instruc on, naviga ng through the teenage age
,interpersonal rela onship, team work, career talk , security ps ,preven on of child trafficking [ lecture by
NAPTIC ],

Ci zen and leadership training centre Shere hills Jos, plateau state or mobile school Abuja, of which SAC Karu
is an accredited centre will be hos ng our wards for the training this year. Shere Hills, is a household name in
Plateau State and the en re northern part of the country; military and para-military organisa ons in the
country are also conversant with the towering hills for regular training. It is with the hope that the event
would commence promptly without hitches.

Dear parents, kindly take proper note of the following informa on:

4. kindly separate training requirements (things to bring) from the regular school/resump on items.

FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS
The sum of eighty nine thousand, eight hundred naira only (₦89,800) is recommended for proper execu on of
the events.

NB: Handset or any form of electronic gadgets is prohibited. A er the training program, the SS2 students

You will be required to sign a consent form during Visi ng Day, 24th February if the decision for Jos venue is
opted for.
