Activity Design

Basic NIP Training for Newly Hired HRH

I. TRAINING OBJECTIVES
The three-day training activity aims to:

1. Understand the importance of immunization in public health and disease prevention.


2. Identify the different types of vaccines used in the National Immunization Program and their target diseases.
3. Demonstrate proper vaccine storage and handling procedures to maintain vaccine potency.
4. Explain the recommended immunization schedule for different age groups according to the national guidelines.
5. Recognize common adverse reactions to vaccines and appropriate management strategies.
6. Develop effective communication skills to educate and counsel patients and caregivers on the benefits of immunization.
7. Practice administering vaccines following standard protocols and safety measures.
8. Evaluate and monitor immunization coverage rates to ensure the success of the National Immunization Program.
9. Collaborate with healthcare professionals and community stakeholders to promote vaccine acceptance and address vaccine hesitancy.
10. Apply knowledge of immunization policies and regulations to uphold ethical standards and legal requirements in vaccine administration.

II. TRAINING SPECIFICATIONS

1. Target Dates: July 17-19, 2024 (inclusive of travel time)


Venue: To-Be-Determined (hotel/ venue quotations being secured by procurement officer)
3. Participants:
Newly hired HRH and staff without Basic NIP Training (30 Participants)
10 Support staff
4. Activity requirements:
a. Training Venue – capacity of 30 pax ; inclusive of tables, chairs, AV equipment; WIFI/ stable internet connection
b. Accommodation and Meals and Snacks – food for 30 pax; Breakfast, AM snacks, Lunch, PM snacks, Dinner ,
c. Mobilization Cost of RHU Personnel
d. Training Materials:
i. Master/ Training Decks – all materials from RI/UNICEF/MOH
ii. Workshop kits (Envelopes with Zipper, Notebooks, Ballpens, Name Tag Holder, ) – 30

ANNEX A. Mini-workshop on Problem Tree Analysis

Instructions:
1. Divide the group into four (5 members) based on the district they are from.
2. Use post-its or meta cards to do problem tree analysis: Asking of WHYs and WHAT DOES IT LEAD TO.
a. Define the core problem. Using a meta-card, paste in on the center of the manila paper.
b. Identify and discuss primary causes of the core problem. Write them on different meta-cards and paste them below the core problem.
c. Identify and discuss secondary causes of the factors initially identified. Write them on different meta-cards and paste them below the primary
causes.
d. Identify and discuss the most direct effects of the core problem. Write them on different meta-cards and paste them above the primary causes.
e. For each direct effect, discuss further effects they lead to.
e. Keep repeating the process until you have arrived at a comprehensive analysis of your core problem.
