Introduction
The Apparatus is used for testing the Color fastness of Textiles in the form of Yarn,
Fabric whether dyed, printed or otherwise colored to crocking i.e. wet rubbing and dry
rubbing. In this test, a finger of cylindrical shape, covered with Standard White fabric
(Crocking Cloth) is rubbed against the Test specimen under a fixed load of 9 N.
Testing Procedure
The Crock meter consists a base frame on which the fabric Yarn
or are mounted
on the top of the frame are holded by clamp.
A moving finger is fixed to with
an arm a rotating handle. By rotating the handle the
finger moves To and Fro to a fixed distance set as per that standards.
The finger is given load of 9N
a by an extra mass provided on the moving arm.
Mechanical counter provided for counting the number of strokes with Re-settable
facility.
The base of the apparatus is nicely finished by powder coating, others parts are
Nical plated to give a corrosion-resistant fine finish.

WATER ABSORBENCY TESTING PROCEDURE
Testing method
AATCC-79
Requirement
1. Burette (10ml capacity) with stand
2. Fabric clamp
3. Beaker
4. Specimen
5. Distilled water
Technical instruction
1. Specimen size should be 20cm x 20cm
2. Distance between the tip of burette to the surface of fabric is 10mm
3. Burette capacity is 1Oml (not applicable if more than 10ml)
4. To ensure the fabric to be flat without waves.
5. Distilled water is necessary. Do not use normal water
PROCEDURE
1. Specimen need to be clamped over the beaker without any
wrinkles and waves. It Should be even
2. One drop of water applied on the fabric surface, At the same
time stop watch must be started
3. Need to notice the fall or observation of water by the fabric
until the disappearance of reflection which means the water
just spread flatly.
4. In this time, need to stop the watch and notice the time. same
will be continued for the next trails.

TEAR STRENGTH TESTER i5-6.4 kg capacity
Introduction:
The Tear Strength Tester of fabrics, Plastic films, or other similar materials is determined by
measurement of the work done in tearing through a fixed length of the test specimen using the
Elmendorf tear tester.
Equipment Details:
Elmendorf Tear Tester consist of a sector pendulum pivoted on anti-friction ball bearing on
vertical bracket fived on a rigid metallic base. The test specimen in shape of a rectangular piece is
held between two jaws, one of which is mounted on the pendulum and the other is mounted on the
Vertical Arm. The Jaws eclamps are mounted in such a manner that their holding faces are aligned
with each other when the pendulum is locked in its raised position.
An adjustable knife is also mounted on the Vertical Arm. It is centered between the two jaws for
initial slit in the test The is released by lifting a brake release lever.
