Start packet capturing.

Activity number 1:

1. List up to 10 different protocols that appear in the protocol column in the unfiltered packet-
listing window and also explain them (only 2 to 3 Lines).

1. TCP: TCP/IP is also used as a communications protocol in a private computer network.it

stands of transmission computer protocol.it is basic and commonly used and enables
applications to exchange information over the internet

2. SSDP: It stands for Simple Service Discovery Protocol .it is used for advertising services
and discovering of presence information.

3. MDNS: mDNS is meant to deal with having names for machines on local networks without
needing to register them on DNS servers.

4. STP: TP was created to avoid the problems that arise when computers exchange data on
a local area network (LAN) that contains redundant paths.it is actually a 2 layer network
protocol.
5. ARP: Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) is a protocol or procedure that connects an ever-
changing Internet Protocol (IP) address to a fixed physical machine address.

6. TLSV1.2: stands for transport layer security.it is used by applications to ensure safe data
transfers over a network.

7. DNS: it stands for domain name system it allows a browser to access a website and other
resources.

8. UDP: it is used for time sensitive applications as it do not establish a firm data connection is iis
mainly used for gamming, playing videos etc.

9. BROWSER: browser loads a webpage using various protocols: It uses the Domain Name
System (DNS) protocol to convert a domain name into an IP address. It uses the HyperText
Transfer Protocol (HTTP) to request the webpage contents from that IP address.

10. HTTP: HTTP is the primary protocol for transmission of information across the Internet.it is
used to transport data between client and web server.

2. Identify source and destination ip addresses and also try to find the ip address of your
machine.

ACTIVITY NUMBER 3:
BELOW ARE DESTINATION AND SOURCES IP:
BELOW IS IP ADRESS:

ACTIVITY NUMBER 4:
1. PACKET LOSS COUTER AND THE RATE AT WHICH THE ARE TRANSFERRED
2.http request by http host access the resources on the server

3.http load distribution on different ips:

4.requests sequence made by a client to access the info:

ACTIVITY NO 5:
All filters
1.TCP:It is used by applications to transfer data over a network usually used by emails.

2.http:it is used to transport information between client and a web server

3.DNS this allows a web browser to access the websites and other resources available on
internet
