1. Raghu has 5400 white paper sheets and 7500 gray paper sheets. He wants to pack them into packets
containing equal number of paper sheets of the same colour. What is the maximum number of sheets
that each packet can hold? [3]

2.Find the value of “x” in the polynomial 2a2 + 2xa + 5a + 10 if (a + x) is one of its factors. [3]

3. Find the smallest number which when increased by 80 is exactly divisible by 360 and 576. [3]

4. Find a quadratic polynomial whose zeroes are (3+√5)/5 and (3−√5)/5. [3]

5.if a & b are the zeros of the quadratic polynomial 5y2 +5y+1 then find the value of a2 + b2 + a-1 + b-1
without finding the zeros. [3]

6. What is the largest number that divides 437, 732, and 1263 leaving remainder of 24 in each
case? [3]

7. Anish goes fishing every 5th day and Balaji goes fishing every 7th day. If Anish and Balaji both
went fishing today, how many days until they will go fishing on the same day again? [3]

8. Find a quadratic polynomial the sum and product of whose zeros are 3 and -2/5. [3]

9.If squared difference of the zeros of the quadratic polynomial F(x) = x2+ax +45 is equal to 324 then find
the value of a. [3]

10. Show that 3+√5/2 is an irrational number. [3]

11.if x & y are the zeros of the quadratic polynomial F(z) = z2-5z +7 the find the quadratic polynomial
whose zeros are 2x+3 and 2y+3 also find the sum of the zeros and product of the zeros of this polynomial.

12. Tamanna is arranging black marbles in groups of 13 and purple marbles in groups of 25. If she
has the same number of black and purple marbles, what is the smallest number of marbles of
each colour that she could have? [3]

13. Two tankers contain 583 litres and 242 litres of petrol respectively. A container with maximum capacity
is used which can measure the petrol of either tanker in exact number of litres. How many containers of
petrol are there in the first tanker. [3]
