Graduate Assistantship in Clarinet Graduate Programs

The University of South Carolina School of Music has an enrollment of


500 music majors, with instruction offered by more than 50 faculty. More Master of Music
than 100 full- and part-time graduate assistants serve in a number of Composition
capacities school wide. The School is housed in a state-of-the-art music Conducting
facility adjoining the Koger Center for the Arts. The University is located Jazz Studies
in the capital city, Columbia, a culturally vibrant metropolis that boasts a Music History
professional orchestra, ballet companies, theater companies and museums. Music Theory

The Clarinet Graduate Assistant provides assistance in studio instruction Performance
for music majors and minors, the clarinet methods class and overall studio Piano Pedagogy
operations. Responsibilities require up to 18 hours per week, and the nine Violin Pedagogy
month stipend ranges from $5,900 to $6,500, depending on the degree Master of Music Education
program. An additional $3,000 is awarded for 5-6 hours a week in FUSE

ENSEMBLE, the Graduate Woodwind Quintet. Graduate students may also

participate in the USC Wind Ensemble for a stipend of $750 per semester
or $1,500 per academic year. Full stipend amount will range from $8,900 Doctor of Musical Arts

An audition is required and applicants must have been admitted into a Certificate – Music Performance
degree program before full consideration of the assistantship application
can be given. Priority is given to applicants who have submitted all
