***Prayer Book***
Suitable for all Times

Celebrant: In the name of the Father & of the Son & of

the Holy Spirit one God Amen.
Hallelujah... Hallelujah... Lord have mercy on us.
Hallelujah... Hallelujah... Lord have mercy on us.
Hallelujah... Hallelujah... Lord bless us...Amen.
Glory be to the Father & to the Son & to the Holy Spirit.
From now & for evermore Amen.
Our Father Who Art in heaven: Hallowed be Thy Name:
Thy kingdom come: Thy will be done on earth as it is in
heaven. Give us this day our daily Bread: And forgive us
our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against
us. And lead us not into temptation: but deliver us from
evil: for Thine is the Kingdom: the Power and the Glory
for evermore Amen.

Prayer of thanks giving

O, how great is Your mercy which you have from the
beginning worked in our mortal race. As you have
created us & called us Your Divine image through which
Your greatness is being revealed.
Christ, the lover of the repentant voice, hear our
supplication & open the door to our prayer. Bring us
back & give us from Your treasure-house compassion,
2
mercy & forgiveness of our sins. So that we may belong
to You & Your Divine Will be fulfilled in us. May Your
Holy Spirit dwell in our thoughts, for You are the True
Light.
O, Righteous Son & full of mercy, make Your
worshippers rejoice in order to walk in the path of Your
covenant & reach the House of Your Kingdom.
Blessed are You God for You have not refused
the request of Your worshippers. We give You & Your
Son & Your Living & Holy Spirit Glory, respect,
gratitude & worship throughout the times & ages, yes
Amen.

Psalm 51
Have mercy upon me, O God, according to Your
lovingkindness; according to the multitude of Your
tender mercies, blot out my transgressions. Wash me
thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my
sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions, and my sin is
always before me. Against You, You only, have I sinned,
and done this evil in Your sight— that You may be found
just when You speak, and blameless when You judge.
Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin my
mother conceived me. Behold, You desire truth in the
inward parts, and in the hidden part You will make me to
know wisdom. Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be
clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Make
me hear joy and gladness, that the bones You have
broken may rejoice. Hide Your face from my sins, and
3
blot out all my iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O
God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast
me away from Your presence, and do not take Your Holy
Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation,
and uphold me by Your generous Spirit. Then I will teach
transgressors Your ways, and sinners shall be converted
to You. Deliver me from the guilt of bloodshed, O God,
the God of my salvation, and my tongue shall sing aloud
of Your righteousness. O Lord, open my lips, and my
mouth shall show forth Your praise. For You do not
desire sacrifice, or else I would give it; You do not
delight in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a
broken spirit, abroken and a contrite heart— These, O
God, You will not despise. Do good in Your good
pleasure to Zion; build the walls of Jerusalem. Then You
shall be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, with
burnt offering and whole burnt offering; then they shall
offer bulls on Your altar.

Celebrant: The prayer of this hour in this blessed day is

being offered to Christ our King & God, as we are
beseeching Him to forgive us our sins Amen.

Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me
to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still
waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of
righteousness for His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no
4
evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they
comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the
presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall
follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the
house of the Lord Forever..... Hallelujah.

Psalm 117
Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles! Praise Him, all you
peoples! For His merciful kindness is great toward us,
and the truth of the Lord endures forever. Praise the
Lord!..... Hallelujah.

Psalm 120
In my distress I cried to the Lord, and He heard me.
Deliver my soul, O Lord, from lying lips and from a
deceitful tongue. What shall be given to you, or what
shall be done to you, you false tongue? Sharp arrows of
the warrior, with coals of the broom tree! Woe is me, that
I dwell in Meshech, that I dwell among the tents of
Kedar! My soul has dwelt too long with one who hates
peace. I am for peace; but when I speak, they are for
war......Hallelujah.

Psalm 121
I will lift up my eyes to the hills— from whence comes
my help? My help comes from the Lord, who made
heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to be
moved; He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, He
5
who keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The
Lord is your keeper; the Lord is your shade at your right
hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon
by night. The Lord shall preserve you from all evil; He
shall preserve your soul. The Lord shall preserve your
going out and your coming in from this time forth, and
even forevermore...... Hallelujah.

Psalm 122
I was glad when they said to me, “let us go into the house
of the Lord.” Our feet have been standing within your
gates, O Jerusalem! Jerusalem is built as a city that is
compact together, where the tribes go up, the tribes of the
Lord, to the Testimony of Israel, to give thanks to the
name of the Lord. For thrones are set there for judgment,
The thrones of the house of David. Pray for the peace of
Jerusalem: “may they prosper who love you. Peace be
within your walls, prosperity within your palaces.” For
the sake of my brethren and companions, I will now say,
“Peace be within you.” Because of the house of the Lord
our God I will seek your good...... Hallelujah.

Psalm 123
Unto You I lift up my eyes, O You who dwell in the
heavens. Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand
of their masters, as the eyes of a maid to the hand of her
mistress, so our eyes look to the Lord our God, until He
has mercy on us. Have mercy on us, O Lord, have mercy
on us! For we are exceedingly filled with contempt. Our
6
soul is exceedingly filled with the scorn of those who are
at ease, with the contempt of the proud.

A reading from St Paul’s 2 Epistle to Timothy
My brethren...Lord have mercy.
2 Timothy 2:16-26

But shun profane and idle babblings, for they will

increase to more ungodliness. And their message will
spread like cancer. Hymenaeus and Philetus are of this
sort, who have strayed concerning the truth, saying that
the resurrection is already past; and they overthrow the
faith of some. Nevertheless the solid foundation of God
stands, having this seal: “The Lord knows those who are
His,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of Christ
depart from iniquity.” But in a great house there are not
only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay,
some for honour and some for dishonour. Therefore if
anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a
8
vessel for honour, sanctified and useful for the Master,
prepared for every good work. Flee also youthful lusts;
but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those
who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. But avoid
foolish and ignorant disputes, knowing that they generate
strife. And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be
gentle to all, able to teach, patient, in humility correcting
those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant
them repentance, so that they may know the truth, and
that they may come to their senses and escape the snare
of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his
will.
Celebrant says: “Glory be to the Lord of Paul...Amen”.

A reading from St Paul’s Epistle to the Romans
My brethren...Lord have mercy.
Romans 12: 1-21
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God,
that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy,
acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And
do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by
the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is
that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. For I
say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is
among you, not to think of himself more highly than he
ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to
each one a measure of faith. For as we have many
9
members in one body, but all the members do not have
the same function, so we, being many, are one body in
Christ, and individually members of one another. Having
then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to
us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in
proportion to our faith; or ministry, let us use it in our
ministering; he who teaches, in teaching; he who exhorts,
in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who
leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with
cheerfulness. Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what
is evil. Cling to what is good. Be kindly affectionate to
one another with brotherly love, in honour giving
preference to one another; not lagging in diligence,
fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; rejoicing in hope,
patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer;
distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality.
Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.
Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who
weep. Be of the same mind toward one another.
Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with
the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion. Repay
no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things
in the sight of all men. If it is possible, as much
as depends on you, live peaceably with all men. Beloved,
do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place
to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will
repay,” says the Lord. Therefore “If your enemy is
hungry, feed him; If he is thirsty, give him a drink;
For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head.”
10
Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with
good.
Celebrant says: “Glory be to the Lord of Paul...Amen”.

A reading from St Paul’s Epistle to the Romans

My brethren...Lord have mercy.
Romans 14: 10-23
But why do you judge your brother? Or why do you
show contempt for your brother? For we shall all stand
before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is written: “As I
live, says the LORD, every knee shall bow to Me,
And every tongue shall confess to God.” So then each of
us shall give account of himself to God. Therefore let us
not judge one another anymore, but rather resolve this,
not to put a stumbling block or a cause to fall in our
brother’s way. I know and am convinced by the Lord
Jesus that there is nothing unclean of itself; but to him
who considers anything to be unclean, to him it is
unclean. Yet if your brother is grieved because of your
food, you are no longer walking in love. Do not destroy
with your food the one for whom Christ died. Therefore
do not let your good be spoken of as evil; for the
kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but
righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. For he
who serves Christ in these things is acceptable to God
and approved by men. Therefore let us pursue the things
which make for peace and the things by which one may
11
edify another. Do not destroy the work of God for the
sake of food. All things indeed are pure, but it is evil for
the man who eats with offence. It is good neither to eat
meat nor drink wine nor do anything by which your
brother stumbles or is offended or is made weak. Do you
have faith? Have it to yourself before God. Happy is he
who does not condemn himself in what he approves. But
he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because he does
not eat from faith; for whatever is not from faith is sin.
Celebrant says: “Glory be to the Lord of Paul...Amen”.

A reading from St Paul’s 1 Epistle
to the Corinthians
My brethren...Lord have mercy.
1 Corinthians 15: 20-28
But now Christ is risen from the dead (repeat x3), and
has become the first-fruits of those who have fallen
asleep. For since by man came death, by Man also came
the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even
so in Christ all shall be made alive. But each one in his
own order: Christ the first-fruits, afterward those who are
Christ’s at His coming. Then comes the end, when He
delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an
end to all rule and all authority and power. For He must
reign till He has put all enemies under His feet. The last
enemy that will be destroyed is death. For “He has put all
things under His feet.” But when He says “all things are
put under Him,” it is evident that He who put all things
12
under Him is excepted. Now when all things are made
subject to Him, then the Son Himself will also be subject
to Him who put all things under Him, that God may be all
in all.
Celebrant says: “Glory be to the Lord of Paul...Amen”.
A reading from St Paul’s Epistle to the Ephesians
My brethren...Lord have mercy.
Ephesians 6: 10-24
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the
power of His might. Put on the whole armour of God,
that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the
devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but
against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of
the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of
wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the
whole armour of God, that you may be able to withstand
in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand
therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put
on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your
feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above
all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able
to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take
the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit,
which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer
and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this
end with all perseverance and supplication for all the
saints— and for me, that utterance may be given to me,
that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the
13
mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in
chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
But that you also may know my affairs and how I am
doing, Tychicus, a beloved brother and faithful minister
in the Lord, will make all things known to you; whom I
have sent to you for this very purpose, that you may
know our affairs, and that he may comfort your hearts.
Peace to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the
Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Grace be with all those
who love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen.
Celebrant says: “Glory be to the Lord of Paul...Amen”.

A reading from St Paul’s 1 Epistle
to the Corinthians
My brethren...Lord have mercy.
1 Corinthians 13: 1-13

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels,

but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a
clanging cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy,
and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and
though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains,
but have not love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all
my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to
be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing. Love
suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does
not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave
14
rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no
evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth;
bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things,
endures all things. Love never fails. But whether there
are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues,
they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will
vanish away. For we know in part and we prophesy
in part. But when that which is perfect has come, then
that which is in part will be done away. When I was
a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child,
I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away
childish things. For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but
then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall
know just as I also am known. And now abide faith,
hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
Celebrant says: “Glory be to the Lord of Paul...Amen”.

A reading from The Holy Gospel of our Lord
Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke
May His blessings be with us all Amen.
Luke 2:21-52

And when eight days were completed for the

circumcision of the Child, His name was called JESUS,
the name given by the angel before He was conceived in
the womb. Now when the days of her purification
according to the law of Moses were completed, they
brought Him to Jerusalem to present Him to the Lord
(as it is written in the law of the Lord, “Every male who
opens the womb shall be called holy to the LORD”), and
16
to offer a sacrifice according to what is said in the law of
the Lord, “A pair of turtledoves or two young pigeons.”
And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem whose name
was Simeon, and this man was just and devout, waiting
for the Consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was
upon him. And it had been revealed to him by the Holy
Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the
Lord’s Christ. So he came by the Spirit into the temple.
And when the parents brought in the Child Jesus, to do
for Him according to the custom of the law, he took Him
up in his arms and blessed God and said: “Lord, now You
are letting Your servant depart in peace, According to
Your word; For my eyes have seen Your salvation Which
You have prepared before the face of all peoples, A light
to bring revelation to the Gentiles, And the glory of Your
people Israel.” And Joseph and His mother marvelled at
those things which were spoken of Him. Then Simeon
blessed them, and said to Mary His mother, “Behold, this
Child is destined for the fall and rising of many in Israel,
and for a sign which will be spoken against (yes, a sword
will pierce through your own soul also), that the thoughts
of many hearts may be revealed.” Now there was one,
Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe
of Asher. She was of a great age, and had lived with a
husband seven years from her virginity; and this woman
was a widow of about eighty-four years, who did not
depart from the temple, but served God with fasting and
prayers night and day.

17
And coming in that instant she gave thanks to the Lord,
and spoke of Him to all those who looked for redemption
in Jerusalem. So when they had performed all things
according to the law of the Lord, they returned to Galilee,
to their own city, Nazareth. And the Child grew and
became strong in spirit, filled with wisdom; and the grace
of God was upon Him. His parents went to Jerusalem
every year at the Feast of the Passover. And when He
was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem
according to the custom of the feast. When they had
finished the days, as they returned, the Boy Jesus lingered
behind in Jerusalem. And Joseph and His mother did not
know it; but supposing Him to have been in the company,
they went a day’s journey, and sought Him among their
relatives and acquaintances. So when they did not find
Him, they returned to Jerusalem, seeking Him. Now so it
was that after three days they found Him in the temple,
sitting in the midst of the teachers, both listening to them
and asking them questions. And all who heard Him were
astonished at His understanding and answers. So when
they saw Him, they were amazed; and His mother said to
Him, “Son, why have You done this to us? Look, Your
father and I have sought You anxiously.” And He said to
them, “Why did you seek Me? Did you not know that I
must be about My Father’s business?” But they did not
understand the statement which He spoke to them. Then
He went down with them and came to Nazareth, and was
subject to them, but His mother kept all these things in

18
her heart. And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and
in favour with God and men.
Celebrant says: “Glory be to Christ our Lord Amen”.

A reading from The Holy Gospel of our Lord
Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke
May His blessings be with us all Amen.
Luke 18:1-14
Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought
to pray and not lose heart, saying: “There was in a certain
city a judge who did not fear God nor regard man. Now
there was a widow in that city; and she came to him,
saying, ‘Get justice for me from my adversary.’ And he
would not for a while; but afterward he said within
himself, ‘Though I do not fear God nor regard man, yet
because this widow troubles me I will avenge her, lest by
her continual coming she weary me.’ Then the Lord said,
“Hear what the unjust judge said. And shall God not
avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him,
though He bears long with them? I tell you that He will
avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of
Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?”Also
He spoke this parable to some who trusted in themselves
that they were righteous, and despised others: “Two men
went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the
other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus
19
with himself, ‘God, I thank You that I am not like other
men—extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax
collector. I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I
possess.’ And the tax collector, standing afar off, would
not so much as raise his eyes to heaven, but beat his
breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me a sinner!’ I tell
you, this man went down to his house justified rather than
the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be
humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”
Celebrant says: “Glory be to Christ our Lord Amen”.

A reading from The Holy Gospel of our Lord
Jesus Christ according to Saint John
May His blessings be with us all Amen.
John 9: 39-41 & 10: 1-21
39
And Jesus said, “For judgment I have come into
this world, that those who do not see may see, and that
40
those who see may be made blind.” Then some of
the Pharisees who were with Him heard these words,
41
and said to Him, “Are we blind also?” Jesus said
to them, “If you were blind, you would have no sin;
but now you say, ‘We see.’ Therefore your sin remains.
1
“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who does not enter the
sheepfold by the door, but climbs up some other way, the
2
same is a thief and a robber. But he who enters by the
3
door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the
doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice; and he
4
calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. And
20
when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them;
5
and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. Yet
they will by no means follow a stranger, but will
flee from him, for they do not know the voice of
6
strangers.” Jesus used this illustration, but they did not
7
understand the things which He spoke to them. Then
Jesus said to them again, “Most assuredly, I say to you, I
8
am the door of the sheep. All who ever came before Me
9
are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them.
I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved,
10
and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief does
not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I
have come that they may have life, and that they may
11
have it more abundantly. “I am the good shepherd. The
12
good shepherd gives His life for the sheep. But a
hireling, he who is not the shepherd, one who does not
own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep
and flees; and the wolf catches the sheep and scatters
13
them. The hireling flees because he is a hireling and
14
does not care about the sheep. I am the good shepherd;
15
and I know My sheep, and am known by My own. As
the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I
16
lay down My life for the sheep. And other sheep I have
which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and
they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock and
17
one shepherd. “Therefore My Father loves Me, because
18
I lay down My life that I may take it again. No
one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I
have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it
21
again. This command I have received from My Father.”
19
Therefore there was a division again among the Jews
20
because of these sayings. And many of them said, “He
has a demon and is mad. Why do you listen to Him?”
21
Others said, “These are not the words of one who has
a demon. Can a demon open the eyes of the blind?”
Celebrant says: “Glory be to Christ our Lord Amen”.

Now after the Sabbath, as the first day of the week began
to dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to
see the tomb. And behold, there was a great earthquake;
for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and
came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat on
it. His countenance was like lightning and his clothing as
white as snow. And the guards shook for fear of him, and
became like dead men. But the angel answered and said
to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek
Jesus who was crucified. He is not here; for He is risen,
as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. And
go quickly and tell His disciples that He is risen from the
dead, and indeed He is going before you into Galilee;
there you will see Him. Behold, I have told you.” So they
went out quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy,
and ran to bring His disciples word. And as they went to
tell His disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying,
22
“Rejoice!” So they came and held Him by the feet
and worshiped Him. Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be
afraid. Go and tell My brethren to go to Galilee, and there
they will see Me.” Now while they were going, behold,
some of the guard came into the city and reported to the
chief priests all the things that had happened. When they
had assembled with the elders and consulted together,
they gave a large sum of money to the soldiers, saying,
“Tell them, ‘His disciples came at night and stole Him
away while we slept.’ And if this comes to the governor’s
ears, we will appease him and make you secure.” So they
took the money and did as they were instructed; and this
saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this
day. Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, to
the mountain which Jesus had appointed for them. When
they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some doubted.
And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority
has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go
therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing
them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the
Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I
have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always,
even to the end of the age.” Amen.
Celebrant says: “Glory be to Christ our Lord Amen”.

Jesus Christ according to Saint John

23
May His blessings be with us all Amen.
John 14:18-31 & 15:1-15
18 19
I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you. “A
little while longer and the world will see Me no more, but
20
you will see Me. Because I live, you will live also. At
that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you
21
in Me, and I in you. He who has My commandments
and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves
Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and
22
manifest Myself to him.” Judas (not Iscariot) said to
Him, “Lord, how is it that You will manifest Yourself to
23
us, and not to the world?” Jesus answered and said to
him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My
Father will love him, and We will come to him and make
24
Our home with him. He who does not love Me does not
keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine
25
but the Father’s who sent Me. “These things I have
26
spoken to you while being present with you. But the
Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My
name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your
27
remembrance all things that I said to you. Peace I leave
with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives
do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither
28
let it be afraid. You have heard Me say to you, ‘I am
going away and coming back to you.’ If you loved Me,
you would rejoice because I said, ‘I am going to the
29
Father,’ for My Father is greater than I. “And now I
have told you before it comes, that when it does come to
30
pass, you may believe. I will no longer talk much with
24
you, for the ruler of this world is coming, and he has
31
nothing in Me. But that the world may know that I love
the Father, and as the Father gave Me commandment, so
I do. Arise, let us go from here.
1
“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser.
2
Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes
away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it
3
may bear more fruit. You are already clean because of
4
the word which I have spoken to you. Abide in Me, and
I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it
abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in
5
Me. “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides
in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you
6
can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is
cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them
7
and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you
abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask
8
what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this
My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you
9
will be My disciples. “As the Father loved Me, I also
10
have loved you; abide in My love. If you keep My
commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have
kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.
11
“These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may
12
remain in you, and that your joy may be full. This is
My commandment, that you love one another as I have
13
loved you. Greater love has no one than this, than to lay
14
down one’s life for his friends. You are My friends if

25
15
you do whatever I command you. No longer do I call
you servants, for a servant does not know what his master
is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I
heard from My Father I have made known to you.
Celebrant says: “Glory be to Christ our Lord Amen”.

A reading from The Holy Gospel of our Lord
Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke
May His blessings be with us all Amen.
Luke 7:1-23
Now when He concluded all His sayings in the hearing
of the people, He entered Capernaum. And a certain
centurion’s servant, who was dear to him, was sick and
ready to die. So when he heard about Jesus, he sent elders
of the Jews to Him, pleading with Him to come and heal
his servant. And when they came to Jesus, they begged
Him earnestly, saying that the one for whom He should
do this was deserving, “for he loves our nation, and has
built us a synagogue.” Then Jesus went with them. And
when He was already not far from the house, the
centurion sent friends to Him, saying to Him, “Lord, do
not trouble Yourself, for I am not worthy that You should
enter under my roof. Therefore I did not even think
myself worthy to come to You. But say the word, and my
servant will be healed. For I also am a man placed under
authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to one,
26
‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes;
and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.” When Jesus
heard these things, He marvelled at him, and turned
around and said to the crowd that followed Him, “I say to
you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!”
And those who were sent, returning to the house, found
the servant well who had been sick. Now it happened, the
day after, that He went into a city called Nain; and many
of His disciples went with Him, and a large crowd. And
when He came near the gate of the city, behold, a dead
man was being carried out, the only son of his mother;
and she was a widow. And a large crowd from the city
was with her. When the Lord saw her, He had
compassion on her and said to her, “Do not weep.” Then
He came and touched the open coffin, and those who
carried him stood still. And He said, “Young man, I say
to you, arise.” So he who was dead sat up and began to
speak. And He presented him to his mother. Then fear
came upon all, and they glorified God, saying, “A great
prophet has risen up among us”; and, “God has visited
His people.” And this report about Him went throughout
all Judea and all the surrounding region. Then the
disciples of John reported to him concerning all these
things. And John, calling two of his disciples to him, sent
them to Jesus, saying, “Are You the Coming One, or
do we look for another?” When the men had come to
Him, they said, “John the Baptist has sent us to You,
saying, ‘Are You the Coming One, or do we look for
another?’ And that very hour He cured many of
27
infirmities, afflictions, and evil spirits; and to many blind
He gave sight. Jesus answered and said to them, “Go and
tell John the things you have seen and heard: that the
blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf
hear, the dead are raised, the poor have the gospel
preached to them. And blessed is he who is not offended
because of Me.”
Celebrant says: “Glory be to Christ our Lord Amen”.
“A Prayer for Reconciliation”
Father all Merciful, let those who
hear & hear again, yet never understand,
hear Your Voice this time and
understand that it is You, the
Holy of Holies.
Open the eyes of those who
see and see, yet never perceive,
to see with their eyes this time
Your Holy Face & Your Glory.
Place Your Finger on their heart so that their
heart may open and understand Your Faithfulness.
I pray and ask you all these things,
Righteous Father,
so that all the nations be converted
and be healed through the Wounds of
Your Beloved Son,
Jesus Christ. Amen.

Nicene Creed
The Creed of the three hundred and
eighteen Fathers gathered at Nicea
in the year 325 A.D
We believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker
of all that is visible and invisible; and in one Lord, Jesus
Christ, the only Son of God, the First-Born of all
creations. Who was begotten from His Father, before all
the ages and was not made; True God from True God,
of one essence with His Father. By Whose hands the
worlds were established and everything was created.
Who, for us humans and for our salvation. Descended
from heaven, and was incarnate of the Holy Spirit, and
became man and was conceived and born of the Virgin
Mary. And suffered and was crucified in the days
of Pontius Pilate, and was buried and rose on the third
day, as it is written. And ascended into heaven and sat
30
down at the right hand of His Father, and He will come
again to judge the dead and the living. And in one Holy
Spirit, the Spirit of Truth, Who proceeds from the Father,
the Life-giving Spirit. And in one Holy and Apostolic
Catholic (Universal) Church. We confess one baptism
for the forgiveness of sins. And the resurrection of our
bodies and life everlasting. Amen.

The End

May the Blessings of our

Lord & God Jesus Christ
Be with us All
Amen.
