VI. Introduction of the Program/Activity


 Background and Rationale
The Senior High School Skills Expo and Job Fair Cum Career Guidance
2024 is an annual event dedicated to providing senior high school students
with valuable insights into various career paths, job opportunities, and skills
development programs. This event aims to bridge the gap between
classroom learning and real-world practical experiences by bringing together
students, educators, employers, and industry experts.
The expo features interactive workshops and hands-on activities designed
to help students explore different career options, enhance their skill sets, and
prepare them for their future careers.
Moreover, the Skills Expo provide students with essential information on
academic pathways, professional certifications, and other resources to help
them make informed decisions about their future education and career
choices. The event also serves as a networking platform for students to
connect with potential employers, mentors, and industry professionals. And

the Senior High School Skills Expo and Job Fair Cum Career Guidance 2024
aim to inspire and empower high school students to pursue their passions,
discover their strengths, and embark on successful career paths in alignment
with their interests and goals.
Furthermore, this event serves as an excellent platform for students to
explore various opportunities and gain valuable insights into their future
career paths. This activity provides students with the opportunity to learn
about the diverse career options and educational pathways available to
them, enabling them to make informed decisions about their future academic
and professional pursuits.
Moreover, exposure to a wide range of academic, extracurricular, and
career opportunities can inspire students to set ambitious goals for
themselves and foster a sense of motivation and purpose in their academic
endeavors. Lastly, a senior high school expo serves as an invaluable platform
for students to explore their interests, make informed decisions about their
future, and gain a broader perspective on the academic and career
opportunities available to them.
Objectives
The objectives of the activity are the following:
 Provide opportunities for students to explore different career options,
industries, and professional pathways through interactions with
industry experts and company representatives;
 Connect students with potential employers, internship providers, and
educational institutions to create prospects for job placements,
internships, and further education;
 Provide students with relevant information on academic pathways,
certifications, and resources to make informed decisions about their
future careers and educational pursuits; and
 Motivate students to pursue their passions, develop confidence in their
abilities, and make informed choices about their future careers.

The objectives of the program were met during the session.

 Program/Activity Design Features


o The activity was conducted in person at the T’boli National High School
Campus, Poblacion, Tboli, South Cotabato and complied with all the
minimum health protocols during the activity.
o Provide hands-on workshops and demonstrations for students to
actively engage with various skills and activities.

o Organize competitions related to various skills such as a business plan


and capstone presentation and competition of different TVL skills of
students to encourage participation and friendly competition.
o Set up booths where students can explore different career options,
interact with professionals, and gather information on educational
pathways and job opportunities.
o Provide platforms for students to showcase their talents and skills
through performances, art displays, project presentations, or
technological innovations.
o Create a space where students can connect with mentors, industry
professionals, and potential employers to foster relationships and gain
insights into various career paths.
o Provide a platform for students to display and present their innovative
projects, research findings, or entrepreneurial ventures, fostering
creativity and collaboration.

VII. Profile of Participants and Resource Persons


 Participants: The activity was attended by the principal, master teachers,
special science teachers, other identified teacher and non-teaching
personnel. Specifically, it was attended by:

VIII. Highlights of the Activity

Opening Activity: On the first day of activity, participants from different


municipalities in South Cotabato were notified and arrived for their booth set-up
and decoration. Also, room preparation and orientation of rules about the
activity were implemented, and registration of participants during their arrival
was facilitated by the in-charge.
On the second day, the program and activities were formally started. The
opening activity started with the singing of the Philippine National Anthem,
followed by a prayer, then the singing of the Regional Hymn, South Cotabato
Hymn, and Tboli Hymn. Ma’am Araceli S. Calixton, EdD, Principal II, delivered

V, gave his inspirational message to all the participants in the venue with
regards to the importance of the said activity.
After the first part of the program, the contest proper started. Judging of
every municipality’s booth was conducted, and contests were simultaneously
conducted in different designated areas of the venue.

Closing Activity: The activity was formally closed by Ma’am Mila A. De Leon,
EPS/TLE/TVL, and the awarding of certificates for the winners and photo ops
followed.

X. Overall Impressions, Comments and Issues Encountered
1. Its delivery:
a. On facilitators
o The facilitators came early during the conduct of the the activity,
and all the things needed were prepared ahead of time.
o Lack of communication among facilitators about the job
assignment.
b. From the participants
o Participants appreciate the hands-on activities, workshops, and
demonstrations that allow them to actively participate and learn
new skills.
o They often find the industry speakers' panels and career
exploration booths to be informative, providing valuable insights
into different career paths and educational opportunities.
o Many participants feel motivated and inspired after interacting
with professionals and witnessing skill showcases, as they see
real-world examples of success and innovation.
o Participants often appreciate the hands-on experience and
practical workshops, gaining useful skills that they can apply in
their academic and professional pursuits.
o They express gratitude for the exposure to various career options
and the guidance provided in understanding the pathways to
different professions.
c. On the content of the program/activity
o The content of the activity was appropriate and relevant to the
needs of the teachers, students, and schools.

o Students had hands-on experience and practical workshops,


gaining useful skills that they can apply in their academic and
professional pursuits.
d. On delivery strategies
o The delivery strategies were very appropriate to the needs of
teachers, students and participating schools. A conducive
environment or venue for the participants and guests were
utilized.
e. On supplies and materials
o All supplies and materials needed for the two-day activity were
provided by the school.
o Proper utilization of supplies and materials for the activity.
f. On school equipment
o All school equipments were prepared by the facilitators for the
activity. Also, there were no problems encountered during the
activity.

2. Its management:
a. Prior to delivery
o Before the conduct of the activity, the participants conducted a
series of meetings for the proper delegation of duties and
responsibilities. The activity design was crafted by the proponents
and approved by the school head. And all the materials and budget
needed were prepared by the proponents.
b. During the delivery
o During the conduct of the activity, the participants, students,
teachers, and invited guests were present in the venue to join the
Skills Expo and Job Fair for Career Guidance 2024. A series of
contests were participated in by the different schools of the Division
of South Cotabato, such as booth presentations and product
displays, business plans and capstone presentations, fish debating,
Petit Four, table skirting, ICT, and electrical installation.
o After the conduct of the program, the proponents prepared the
printed certificates, tokens, and awards to be given to the
participants and guests who participated in the activity.

a. Additional budget for the activity.


b. Strictly follow the time when starting the program.
c. Increase the number of participants or attendees in every
municipality.
d. Proper dissemination of information in every assigned committee.
e. Proper and clear guidelines and mechanics are needed in every
contest.
