STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

Throughout my journey, various experiences have shaped my path towards further study
in the field of data science, revealing my passion and readiness for graduate studies. Initially, I
excelled as a Frontend developer, proficient in React JS, Next JS, and React Native. However,
upon introspection during project work, I realized that while I was skilled, my passion lay
elsewhere. This self-discovery led me to explore areas aligning with my strengths in analytical
reasoning and complex problem-solving.

During my NYSC camping at Kogi state, I volunteered and co-led the evaluation team,
where we conducted sentiment analysis, delving into real-life data collection and report
generation. This experience ignited my fascination with data science and analysis, as I
thoroughly enjoyed every aspect from data gathering to analysis and reporting.

Currently, as a data analyst at an Agro Firm, I have been instrumental in leveraging data
to solve practical challenges, such as predicting market trends and facilitating large-scale trades.
Leading a team of data analysts, I orchestrated the successful trade of over 1000MT of Cashew,
utilizing tools like Tridge, Junglescout, Excel, SQL, and Tableau. This hands-on involvement has
solidified my passion for data analytics, prompting four promotions during my tenure.

These experiences have not only honed my technical skills but also deepened my
understanding of the transformative power of data. I am driven by a relentless pursuit of
knowledge, aiming to further refine my data analytics prowess. This drive fuels my aspirations
for graduate studies, where I seek to push the boundaries of what data can achieve and contribute
meaningfully to the data science landscape. To me, being a data scientist and analyst is like being
a magician, being able perform unimaginable manipulations with data. Now, who wouldn’t want
to study to be a Magician?
