45°F (7°C) and a low of 27°F (-3°C). The sunrise is at 6:50 am, the sunset is at 5:35 pm, and the
humidity is at 62% (Weatherspark, 2023). This day stood out to me because it was the day of
the Superbowl, and I was having friends over. What really made me interested was that it
rained on off all day. This made me wonder why the weather was changing so much to go from
raining to dry repeatedly. New Jersey has a thing for unpredictable weather. February brings a
bunch of deferent type of weather conditions which include snow, sleet freezing rain and
coastal storms, warm air masses from the south, and cold air masses from the north. I also
think the weather is like this because it is still in the grip of winter and cold air from up North is
affecting the area. The lighter winds may be a side effect of the high-pressure systems, adding
One place outside of the United States that I selected to describe the weather for a one-
year period is Sydney, Australia. Sydney is in the southern hemisphere, and it is categorized as a
humid subtropical climate with warm summers and mild winters. The temperature in Sydney
fluctuates from 50°F to 80°F throughout the year. The warmest season in Sydney is from
average low temperature of around 64°F. Conversely, the coolest season in Sydney falls
between June and August, with an average high temperature of roughly 64°F and an average
low temperature of about 50°F (timeanddate, 2023). During summer solstice (December 21 st)
the sunrises at 5:39 am, and the sunsets at 8:04 pm. While in autumnal equinox (March 20 th)
the sunrises at 6:49 am and sunsets at 6:59. Sunrise and sunset occur at 7:04 am and 4:55 pm
respectively on June 21, the winter solstice. At the vernal equinox (around September 22), the

March 61 - 77 73 4.7

June 48 - 61 76 4.5
July 46 - 59 75 3.9
August 47 - 62 72 3.3
September 50 - 66 69 2.5
October 55 - 72 68 2.6
November 59 - 76 67 2.8
December 62 - 80 68 3.3
Sydney has a significant amount of rain all throughout the year and during March and
June it is the highest. The humidity ranges from 67% to 76% which is higher than New Jerseys.
New Jersey has a temperate climate and Sydney temperature is relatively mild. Sydney is in the
southern hemisphere and is heavily influenced by its location near the ocean. This has a big
impact on its climate. With a latitude of approximately 33.9°S, the seasons in Sydney are
reversed in comparison to New Jersey, and the warmest months are between December and
February. The coldest months are between June and August. Australia ocean's proximity has a
moderating influence on its climate, which leads to mostly stable temperatures throughout the
year. Sydney has a milder climate with less variation in temperature compared to New Jersey.
Sydney's latitude and proximity to the ocean combine to create a special and distinctive climate.
