shifting and erection of structure (column, beam, bracing etc.) at Niacinamide Expansion at Unit-1, Jubilant Project.

HOW will we do the work?


1. INTRODUCTION:

This method statement describes the work procedure to be followed for unloading, Shifting & erection of column, beam etc
(structure) at UNIT-1, Jubilant Project.

2. SCOPE:

The scope of work involves the following:

o Receipt of STRUCTURE MATERIAL


o Unloading of STRUCTURE MATERIAL
o Storage of STRUCTURE MATERIAL
o Shifting of STRUCTURE MATERIAL
o Erection of STRUCTURE (Beam/Column/bracing/mezzanine etc.)
3. REFERENCES AND STANDARD:

5. UNLOADING CREW:

Ground Preparation:
o Check all the material as per BOQ, Packing list
o Physically check the material for any damage
o Bring all the material at location By farina /manually using
/nylon rope/wire sling to be ensured that no damage, any dent, bend & distortion etc .and
using 40/80/100 Mt crane , 80 FT Boom lift for height works

o Check the Foundation bolt conditions, positioning and thread conditions.


o Check the availability of all the tools tackles and crane.
o Ensure that safety and work related training is conducted
o Ensure that client and other agencies are informed about the start of the erection
o Ensure proper housekeeping at site.
o Erection column must be comprised of steel wire rope of 8 mm dia. With turn buckle. Or 20 mm dia. PP rope.
o Erection of column must securely be tied up with rigid support. RCC
pedestal, RCC blocs or ISMC 100 to 200, driven at 450 up to 1.5m in
o OPPOSITE DIRECTION OF LOAD LINE.
o Before starting the erection activities, handover of site foundations
(With checking over all dimension as per civil/Mech.) Should be done from civil to mechanical with proper
documentation. Joint inspection civil mechanical contractor in presence of client is mandatory.
STEP-1
o Erection will start from side wall column of first bay (from any end of the building

as per priority and civil progress)

o Bring the particular column as per drawing and part mark to the location where it

is to be erected.

o Attach clips for eaves strut and girt with the main columns at ground only.

o Tie one end of all erection bracings with the column top.

o Lift the column with the help of crane /gradually.

o Erect the column on pedestal. Take care about threads of Foundation bolts while

Inserting base plate in to foundation bolt. There should not be damage to threads.

o Immediately tighten the nuts of bolts using proper plate washers.

o Align and level the column, if there is any gap between the bottom of the base

plate and top of R.C.C Column place the M.S. shim plates in single piece as much as

possible or As per Jubilant Standard

o After checking the verticality retightens the nut and place the erection bracings in placed.

o Verticality shall be checked by plumb bob & tightening of Foundation bolt shall be

Checked.

Note: - The crane should be released slowly only after placing the erection column (Guy Ropes) and

tightening of bolts

STEP-2

o Same procedure as in step-1 has to be followed for erecting the second adjacent

Column.

o Immediately install the Tie beam between two columns.

o Once placed the tie beam it should be tightened by using Nut Bolt

o If complete the 12 mtr level erection using more than 40/80/100 mt cap crane

For column and Tie beam

o Note: -Same procedure as in step 1 and 2 has to be followed in opposite side for erection of

columns

and bracing

STEP-3

o Connect all the segments of one frame as per drawing or part marks at the

o Ground itself.

o All connections are field bolted, all bolts are high tensile.

o All bolts to be installed using turn of nut method.

o Install and tighten the Primary frame connections bolts, fastener shall be tightened

as required torque according torque chart as each grid Primary frame is assembled.

o Torque tightening for primary frames shall be checked for bolts at ground

o Hold column in place until it is securely bolted to the column, temporary

o Bracing is installed to hold assembled frame in place.

o The temporary bracing should be tightened with same tension on opposite sides.

STEP-4

o All purling, flange braces should be bolted in place.

o Install all roof bracings. The bracings should be tightened. Align the braced

bay. Place the temporary bracing at position

o No further erection is to proceed until the above mentioned 3rd and 4th steps are

Completed. Crane has to be released only after the completion of step 3 and 4.

Step – 5

o Complete the erection up to next braced bay.

o Align the complete building up to second braced bay in totality, before


proceeding further
o After alignment proceed for further erection as per drawing and details.
o Wherever the braced bay comes, the erection of temporary bracing shall follow the procedures as in steps 3 and

4.

o After alignment proceed for further erection as per drawing and details.

o After completing the erection of one module in length wise erection will proceed

in same way for adjacent gable (width side )

o Align the complete column After inspection of level, alignment grouting will be

7. ACCESS & EGRESS TO THE WORK AREA

o Crane to be marched through main gate to work location on designated road.


o The area around the material and area for crane movement needs to be clear form any obstruction like electrical
cable, material stacking, etc. Other vehicle movement and any activities by other agencies should be stopped during
the job.
o Adequate illumination shall be ensured.
o Proper supervision shall be ensured during crane march.
o Road Diversion.
8. ARRANGEMENT FOR CRANE POSITIONING

o Entire area of lifting shall be barricading


o Crane will be positioned on ground surface which need to be compacted properly to withstand the load.
o All movement of vehicle and workers should be diverted.
o Proper supervision to be ensured.
o All construction materials to be removed from site
o Soft barricading shall be provided.
o Supervision shall be ensured round the clock

9. GROUND BEARING PRESSURE CALCULATION

o Weight of Crane = 40 T
o Weight of Accessories (Counterweight) = 2 T
o Weight of Load = 4 T
o Weight of Rigging equipment=0.6T +
o Total Weight = 46.6 T+
o Weight on out riggers =46.6/4 = 11.65 T / out trigger
P= Force / Area = 11.65 T /6.25 M 2 = 1.864 T / Meter square
10. LOAD CHART FOR FARANA AND CRANE :
Farana Crane

Capacity of Farana = 15 MT(Tandem Lifting) Capacity of Crane = 40 MT(Tandem Lifting)

Weight of Accessories = 100KG Weight of Accessories = 100KG

Weight of Load = 4 MT Weight of Load = 4 MT

Weight of Rigging tools = 100Kg Weight of Rigging tools = 500Kg

Total Weight = 4.2 MT Total Weight = 4.6 MT

11. OPERATIONAL SEQUENCE OF WORK


Risk of all activities shall be assessed.
The structural material (column/bracing/beam etc.) will be shifting to
site from frana and to be placed at designated area.

Sling fixing arrangement shall be checked.
Shifting of structural material shall be done by Farana.
The area of structural material position shall be checked and all obstruction to be cleared.
All preparatory work for structural position shall be done by the concerned department.
All structural shall be erected by 40/80/100 Ton capacity Mobile crane as in the below picture.
Base Boom Length = 10 m
Total Boom Length = 30.5 m (including base boom length)
Uniformly Distributed Load on all 4 outrigger

12. SEQUENCE OF LIFTING, LOWERING, SHIFTING AND ERECTION ACTIVITIES


o On receipt of material /before starting the unloading at site, check the condition of all structural material confirm to
the delivery documents.
o Ensure that the structure are identified for the correct area of installation.
o Arrangement of skilled manpower for the job.
o Placing the farina (15T) two at the site.
o Identify the weight of material / equipment
o Hooking of D shackle & sling with structure (column/bracing/beam etc.) as per hooking arrangement.
o Erection to be done via tandem lifting.
o Sling to be removal from boom lifter.
o Fixing of guide rope for structure (column, beam, bracing etc.) controlling.
o Lift the material & hold for 01 minutes at height of 02 feet for checking the arrangement is correct.
o Fixing the Wooden packing on ground where we are willing to put the structure (column, beam, bracing etc.).
o Put the structure material(column, beam, bracing etc.) slowly & it should we ensure by supervisor, during whole
activity workers hand or any body part should be out of structure that it could not create any Injury to workers.
o Remove the D/Bow shackle from structure with help of boom lifter.
o Shifting of structure unloading area to another area with tandem lifting for the better position of 40 MT crane.
o Shifting of structure material (column, beam, bracing etc.) in niacinamide area to crane for better erection in
tandem lifting.

13. ERECTION OF STRUCTURE:


o The work under this specification covers unloading of structural material (column, beam, bracing etc), tandem lifting
and erection of structure from the niacinamide expansion erection area in all respects for commissioning the plant
all as per drawings, documents, and specifications.
o The Contractor shall study structure layout, General arrangement drawing, interfaces connection, Sleeve layout
drawing before starting any installation work.
o Rigging procedures/ JSA / erection schemes for all major lifts and all other equipment maximum crane capacity shall
be submitted by the Contractor to the jubilant for approval prior to erection of structure. However, approval to
rigging procedure proposed by the Contractor shall not relieve the Contractor from his responsibility
o Positioning of Crane.
o 40/80/100 Metric ton Crane erection and positioning on the well compacted and levelled area.
o Load counterweights.
o Outrigger plate 04 Nos will be by contactor.
o Reinforcement Bar with Safety net to be removed properly prior to start the erection.
o Tandem lifting of structure material (column, beam, bracing etc.) using Farana neared to the crane in extent it
possible for ease of erection.
o Lift the structure (Colum, beam, bracing etc.) from the ground surface using 40 metric ton crane through the open
area.

o Column/beam/bracing etc need to be placed on its final position by the Crane.
o Check the orientation according to the drawing and align it properly using crane.
o Complete the alignment with load cell mounting Kit and release the 40 metric ton crane.
o Remove the D/Boo shackle from column/beam/bracing etc with help of Man boom lifter.
o Do not de-sling until the job is finished.
o Dismantling of the Crane.

14. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS


o Before start work barricade the required area and display signage.
o Display valid PTW, Lifting Plan, JSA and fitness certificates of lifting tools and tackles.
o Experienced Operator with valid license.
o Trained and dedicated team for Rigging and signalling.
o Only authorized members are allowed in the barricaded area.
o All stage of work under proper monitoring.
o Keep fire extinguisher near the hot work area.
o Provide lifeline and safety harness for work at height.
o Provide all work-related PPEs.

PRE-JOB MEASURES to be taken:
 Ensure statutory safety compliance & Vehicle fitness, and operator medical fitness certificate use proper PPE’s, obtain work
permit, unauthorized entry restriction, Area to be proper levelled and compacted.

 TBT to all workers

 Work specific Training.
 Visual checking the condition of Crane and other lifting equipment.
 Welding machine should be in good condition and properly inspection tag.
 Fitness certificates of lifting tools and tackles.
 Signaling arrangements.
 All the lifting tools and tackles are checked and approved by the third party and only trained and experienced riggers are for
the job.
 Proper fall protection arrangement shall be ensured.
What precautions will we take DURING THE JOB?
PRECAUTIONS required:

 Display of cautionary signboards.
 Column/beam Barricading etc. of the work area shall be done by caution tape to avoid unauthorized persons entering the
work area.

What if things GO WRONG?


EMERGENCY PROCEDURES, such as first aid
 Site Supervisor has to report any incident to JUBILANT Site Manager and JUBILANT Incident Controller
immediately.
 Supervisor has to take off control over the danger and rescue over the incident.
 Site manager has to inform to the first aider.
 First aider to reach at spot with first aid box and stretcher and provide first aid treatment and Incident Controller
to ask raise siren/whistle in case of emergency.
 Ambulance to be called (if required).
