Literature Review

Computer-assisted language learning (CALL) interactively offers an

efficient learning atmosphere for the user to perform using multi-media
content. With help of( CALL), users can learn without the direction of
teachers or in a self-learning mode. Automatic pronunciation assessment
and simulated conversational-style lessons are other facilities of
(CALL).
While learning a particular language first we should know all about that
language and with the help of this knowledge, we will start to speak that
language. If we speak specifically about ENGLISH, rules, and grammar
is important but at the same time, the correct pronunciation of a
particular sentence is more important. The sound produced without
proper use of punctuation marks seems like a mechanical sound which
wouldn’t be natural and will decrease the interest in learning. To increase
the interest in learning language, we can use software and applications
that are utilized in (CALL), such as online or offline dictionaries,
podcasts and voice rooms with clear voices that help to know the correct
pronunciation of the words.
These days, websites that are geared toward people who are learning a
foreign language, particularly English language learners, are so abundant
and diverse that it can be very challenging to determine how to get
started using them(Bezentuncock , Ehsani F, 2000)
(CALL) can solve basic problems for teachers like student attention,
maintaining their interest, and holding focus. It provides a variety of
interacting activities, songs, and games that makes language learning
simpler(Ellis R , 2004).
The implementation of (CALL) in language learning is beneficial, but
cannot entirely rely on it. Teachers who want to utilize this approach
should ensure that they are familiar with the basic technology.
the purpose of this research was to take a look at (CALL) usages or
applications and how it can be helpful to learn languages comfortably.
