Climate change : INTRODUCTION

is a long-term variation of temperature and typical weather patterns in a

place. It could refer to a particular location or the planet as a whole.
Climate change basically causes weather patterns to be less predictable.
A particular region might experience lower or higher than average
temperatures. It may cause more frequent and severe weather events,
such as storms, floods, and droughts. Its a matter of fact that, many
experts feel that the damage due to climate change has already ensued
and now its the golden hour and we need to put the pedal to the metal. I
would like to get my thoughts on the biggest challenges we face in
addressing climate change, the things that individuals can do to help, and
my imagination of the future if care is not taken.

Facts about climate change:

The average global temperature has increased by about 1 degree Celsius
since the late 19th century, and is projected to increase by 2.5 to 4
degrees Celsius by the end of the 21st century, if greenhouse gas
emissions continue to rise at current rates.(1)
The Earth's oceans are absorbing most of the excess heat caused by
climate change, which is causing them to warm and expand, leading to
sea level rise, which is already swamping coastal communities around
the world.(2)
Climate change is also causing more extreme weather events, such as
heat waves, droughts, floods, and wildfires. These events are having a
devastating impact on people and ecosystems around the world.(3)

My role in Climate change and how will I am trying to address that:

As an 8th grader, my role in causing climate change may be relatively
small. However, I can still contribute to the problem by making choices
that lead to greenhouse gas emissions. For example, if I eat a lot of meat,
my food production will contribute to methane emissions. If I travel by
car frequently, my transportation will contribute to carbon dioxide
emissions.

Herewith are some ways that I am trying to address my role in climate

change:
Eat less meat and more plant-based foods.
Walk, bike, or take public transportation whenever possible.
Conserve energy at home by turning off lights and appliances when
they're not in use, and by unplugging electronics when they're not
charging.
Recycle and compost to reduce my waste.
Support businesses and organizations that are working to reduce their
environmental impact.
Educate others about climate change and the importance of taking
action.
I can also participate in protests and rallies to raise awareness of the
issue.
By taking these steps, I feel strongly I can make a difference in the fight
against climate change. Though small my actions can inspire others to
take action as well. Together, we can create a more sustainable future for
all.

Expert Interview: with Mr.Madhav, a local climate expert:

Madhav, a local climate expert, believes that we need to reduce our
dependence on fossil fuels, transition to clean energy sources, improve
energy efficiency, and develop new technologies to capture and store
carbon dioxide emissions. We also need to put a price on carbon
emissions and educate the public about the dangers of climate change.

Madhav emphasizes that climate change is a complex challenge, but it is

one that we must meet. By working together, we can create a more
sustainable future for all.

My imagination of living in this future:

The world probably will have a lot of change, if care is not taken in
terms of climate change.
The rise in the Sea level, inundates coastal cities and displaces millions
of people, Extreme weather events, such as heat waves, droughts, floods,
and wildfires, are more common and severe.

Conclusion :
In conclusion, Climate change has disrupted ecosystems and threatened
biodiversity.Climate change is a serious threat to the planet and its
inhabitants. However, there is still time to act. By reducing our reliance
on fossil fuels, improving energy efficiency, and reducing our
consumption, we can mitigate the impacts of climate change and create a
more sustainable future for all.
