ABSTRACT

In the twenty-first century, fashion has evolved into a way of life. Depending on physical
stature, gender, as well as social and geographic factors, the amount and style of clothing
worn might vary. For the majority of individuals, the in-store buying experience is still
what comes to mind when they think of shopping. Customers can try on clothing in real
time, but this process takes too long when there aren't enough trial rooms. Our goal is to
create an engaging, interactive, and incredibly realistic virtual system that allows users or
customers to select from a wide variety of clothing designs before simulating those outfits
on virtual people. In this study, we have suggested a system that aids in the
synchronization of daily attire. The Virtual styling room using live video feed project may
alter how a person shops for and tries on clothing. Customers can try on a wide range of
items without actually wearing them by utilizing the idea of "Virtual Reality." The benefit
of doing things this way is that it would take less time and effort to physically try the
garments on. This project aids in market management, reducing the requirement for
customers to try on each and every article of clothing. Additionally, retailers can save time
and space by not keeping a large inventory on hand.

CHAPTER 1

INTRODUCTION

 Real world and virtual world are the two universes. When humans first discovered
computers, they began to operate digitally.
 There has been making an effort to smoothly integrate the digital and virtual worlds. Many
technologies were developed in an effort to close the gap between the virtual and physical
worlds.
 Virtual reality, augmented reality, and mixed reality are three examples of software that
connects the virtual and real worlds.
 This gave rise to an abundance of devices that enable users to simultaneously experience
virtual and real worlds.
 Smart technologies that streamline our activities have a significant impact on our daily lives
as a result of the technology development industry's rapid growth.
 For example, online purchasing developed quickly. People are becoming more accustomed
to using internet stores, online auctions, etc., to buy the things they are interested in.

LITERATURE SURVEY

[1] “Implementation of Virtual Fitting Room Using Image Processing by Srinivasan K.

Vivek S. Department of Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, Sri Ramakrishna
Engineering College Coimbatore, India The Virtual Dressing Room technique for virtually
dressing a person requires separating the person from the background while taking into account
changes in lighting and with the least amount of disruption to surrounding items. Following
this, a Laplacian filter is used to detect the contour of the upper and lower body, followed by
edge detection. Following that, feature points are extracted based on the fundamental human
anatomy. The sample shirt is bent to precisely suit the person using these locations as a guide.
[2] “Image Processing Design Flow for Virtual Fitting Room Applications used in Mobile
Devices by Cecilia Garcia, Nicolas Bessou, Anne Chadoeuf and Erdal Oruklu, Department of
Electrical and Computer Engineering Illinois, Institute of Technology Chicago, Illinois, USA.
This work successfully created a mobile device application for a virtual changing room. The
primary goal of creating a real-time, platform-neutral application was accomplished. Users can
choose from sizes XS to XL, move the clothing with the arrow buttons, and, if necessary,
change the width of the clothing with the scroll button. They can also decide to experiment with
various items before taking a photo of themselves to show how the clothing fits. The
programme can monitor the user's position and movement while tracking and scaling the
apparel. Retail businesses can use this app by releasing it to the Apple Store or Android Market.
[3] “A Virtual Trial Room using Pose Estimation and Homograph Kshitij Shah, Mridul
Pandey, Sharvesh Patki, Radha Shankarmani. Department of Information Technology Sardar
Patel Institute of Technology Mumbai, India The development of a mobile application that
allows users to virtually try on clothing utilising open CV and TensorFlow lite technologies
would greatly improve the shopping experience. Al suggested a solution that would align the
input fabric on the person representation using a Geometric Matching Module.

CHAPTER 3

DRAWBACKS

 Accuracy of Virtual Fitting: One of the primary challenges is ensuring accurate virtual
fitting. In some cases, virtual representations may not perfectly align with real-world
clothing, leading to discrepancies in how the clothes fit in the virtual environment
compared to reality.

 Limited Realism: Virtual dressing rooms may struggle to accurately simulate the texture,
fabric, and movement of real clothing, affecting the realism of the virtual try-on
experience.

 Device and Technology Dependency: Users may need specific devices, such as
smartphones or augmented reality glasses, to access virtual dressing rooms. This
dependency can limit the accessibility of the technology.

 User Privacy Concerns: As virtual dressing rooms often involve capturing images or
videos of users, privacy concerns may arise, especially regarding the storage and use of
personal data

 Integration Challenges: Integrating virtual dressing rooms seamlessly with e-commerce

platforms can be challenging. Some systems may face issues in synchronizing virtual try-
on experiences with the online shopping process.

 Limited Garment Diversity: Virtual dressing rooms may not support all types of clothing
or accessories, limiting the range of items users can try on virtually

 Dependency on Lighting Conditions: The quality of virtual try-on experiences can be

affected by lighting conditions. Inconsistent or poor lighting may impact the accuracy of
color representation and garment details

 Internet Bandwidth and Latency: Web-based virtual dressing rooms may be affected by
slow internet connections, leading to delays in loading virtual garments and reducing the
overall user experience.

CHAPTER 4

PROBLEM STATEMENT

• The traditional in-store clothing shopping experience is often time-consuming,

inconvenient, and lacks the ability to provide an immersive preview of how garments will
fit and look on an individual.

• Additionally, the rise of online shopping has created a need for a virtual try-on solution
that seamlessly integrates with e-commerce platforms.

• Existing augmented reality-based virtual dressing rooms exhibit both promise and
challenges, such as accuracy in virtual fitting, privacy concerns, and integration
complexities.

• There is a need for an advanced and user-friendly virtual dressing room solution that
overcomes these challenges, delivering a realistic and personalized virtual try-on
experience to enhance the overall shopping process for users and bridge the gap between
the physical and digital realms of the fashion retail industry.

CHAPTER 5

OBJECTIVES

 Our approach concentrate on how the selected garment fitted the user’s body and how it will
be appear as if he/she in real world
 Our motivation here is to increase the time efficiency and improve the accessibility of
clothes try on by creating a virtual dressing room environment.
 Customers are able to select clothing designs from a range of different garments as they
prefer and those can be tried onto the image which allows them to experience a live view of
the outfit as if it worn on their own body
 The primary aim of this project was to build up a compelling, interactive and highly realistic
shopping experience via a desktop application providing the user a reliable and accurate
service to access an environment of a virtual try on system.

METHODOLOGY

Detecting and Sizing the Body

First step of the proposed Online Virtual Trial Room method is the acquisition of the shape
of the body, head or neck depending upon the wearable to get reference points. Reference
points are then used to determine where to display the particular cloth or ornament
Face Detection
As when the user comes in front of the screen, to detect the user the discrete structure
which is to be identified is the face. So, to detect the face, we use Haar feature-based
cascade classifiers.
Image Masking
In this simply the image masked has some of its pixel intensity values set to zero. In the
image wherever the pixel intensity value is zero automatically the pixel intensity of the
resulting masked image will be set to the background value which is normally zero. Or To
define the mask the ROI’s for each slice is used. If required, masking can be controlled on
slice by slice basis in ROI toolkit. In ROI toolkit, masking operations does not affect a slice
without ROI.
Edge Detection
There are various edge detection techniques for detection of body. To perform this edge
detection technique Gaussian filters are used. These filters cut out the noise in a digital
image to prevent any false detection by the processor.
Scaling of attire
Scaling means re-sizing of the image according to the circumstances. As when the user
moves in front of the screen it should change the sizing of the attire and place it on the
body accordingly
Proposed Application
The application is developed with Python Flask Web Application Interface. The user can
view clothes and other wearables on the website and choose to buy or try on the attire
Advantages:
• Allows people to complete their tasks in a smooth & timely manner
11
• Gives the shoppers access to various more options to try & check.
• Convenient and faster shopping experience.
• Quicker and Easier to try clothes.
• Reduces Exchange and Return Polices.
• No hidden camera issues as for female customers.
• By providing your customers a way to see how each item looks on their body, they can
make more
informed decisions. Therefore, fewer of them will want to return their orders.
• Drawing customers in.
• Notably greater turnover. Positive image of your brand

CHAPTER 9

CONCLUSION

The popularity of online shopping and people's desire to utilize it to the fullest extent possible
when buying clothes justifies the necessity to create an algorithm that digitally dresses them
in the chosen clothing. The requirement to spend hours physically trying on a range of outfits
is a regular issue client run into when shopping for clothing. The time available might not be
enough, and this might be exhausting. The utilization of a virtual styling room that serves as a
trial room using live video feed is the suggested remedy for this issue. The human body's
nodes and points are plotted using a Kinect sensor, and this information is then utilized to
create an image of clothing over the user's body, obviating the need for actual fittings and
saving time. The ability to check out themselves in different outfits with less limits thanks to
this technology would be greatly appreciated by online buyers
