Understand the Purpose of Computer System
1.1 Explain different types of Computers.
Ans. These following are some computer types;
Super Computers
According to (ADEBISI, Jeleel, 2013) super computer is the
fastest computer which can provide storage with large
capacity. The various functions be made in seconds. This is
fastest than the personal computer. These computers are
powered by high electricity. This produces heat but to cool
down the system air conditioner is used as shown in (figure
1.1).
(Figure 1.1) Source: (wikipedia, 2023)
Uses
The complex calculations are made using this computer. Climate changes and different data for
the predictions are made using supercomputers. Today the world fastest super computer is
“tianhe-2” which is currently present in China.
Mainframe Computer
These computers can execute large data. On the other hand, incredible
amount of data is stored. This computer is used in different
multitasking operations. These can be used as the host for the website.
As the super computer require a lot of space and cost to buy referred
from the (ADEBISI, Jeleel, 2013). But mainframe made this easy due
to their size and cost used as shown in (figure 1.2).
