The Case of the Study/Case Scenario

Mr. Lucidio Francisco a business man decided to open up Money
Lending Company in Cabanatuan City. It appears that his venture in this city
will be profitable. Upon completion of all the required documents, he
immediately started processing job application for his new opened company.
His initial target is to hire ten qualified applicants to process loan
applications and implement lending policies. Cabanatuan City have already
well-established lending companies indicating that the completion within
that area is high.
Mr. Francisco’s academic preparation and work experience are related
to money lending. He holds a bachelor degree in banking in finance. He
worked as collector, credit investigator, and credit manager of multinational
financing firm.
After reviewing the qualifications of the applicants, he became up with
a shortlist of ten potential aspirant. As he took a second look of the resumes
he noticed that the two of them have college and work experiences that are
related to the job. By then he told his assistant that he can’t take the risk of
taking this two even if they’re good performers but has no assurance of
having good interpersonal behaviours that he most considers in ensuring his
employees to be holistically competent professionally and interpersonally.
Problem of the Case
Mr. Francisco needs to find applicants who are best suited and
competent enough for the position and must have a good interpersonal
behaviour amongst colleagues.
Cause/s of the Problem
Mr. Francisco has a problem in assuring that the person he will be hiring will
not just be professionally competent but must possess appropriate behaviour
for the job.
Potential Effects of the problem of the company
If he would not be able to find suitable applicants for the position this may
cause:
 The desired goal of the company may not be achieved.
 There would be difficulty in gaining the trust and loyalty of future
clients in the vicinity.
 Problems may occur in terms of how to strategize in order for his
employee to get along with each other and become good team players
in order to achieve their company goals
Potential Solution/s to the Problems ( At least 3 Alternative
solutions)
For such a case, the best opinion for Mr. Francisco is to hire these two
marketing-oriented applicants because it would beneficial for him and the
company. It is undeniable that they already have the capabilities necessary
for the job and the marketing prowess that they possess would be an asset
to the company.
Knowing that Mr. Fancisco already made up his mind about the two
individual that only possible route for him to take would be to provide
massive trainings for those amateurs who lack marketing prowess.
However there is a must for Mr. Francisco to integrate behavioural
skills in all trainings that he will subject to the applicants in order that they
will not just become professionally competence but interpersonally as well.
This is needed in the tasks because it can boosts the personal relations in
engaging to clients when they market their products. It has to be noted that
marketing demands the skills of being client oriented, for which it is
necessary that the staff recruited must possess the art of good manners and
psychological behaviours towards their clients and colleagues as well. This
will ensure harmonious relationships not just to colleagues but to clients as
well.
Identify the Major Solution (Criteria)
People with high confidence with themselves are probably the kind of people
with excellent in professional and interpersonal skills. This can be learned
through the combination of studies and experience and exposures to
different behavioural and psychological trainings. They can easily cope from
situations wherein the clients or the customers are the priority.
Considering that the business is inclined in money lending, the
manpower should be exceptional at what customers talk about and what
proper behaviour to deal with. They should be very wise in choosing their
personally approaches to clients because this involves establishing customer
relationship and trusts. As they are well experienced people they can easily
determine or observe the kind of personality the clients they are dealing
with. Are these kinds of clients capable enough to pay? Somehow, they can
also protect the company’s socio corporate image.
The best thing that Mr. Francisco should do is to hire these
professionally and interpersonally oriented applicants, it would be an edge in
his part because he will get the manpower who already equipped with skills
in marketing and customer relations. Putting up a business is already a
venturesome, thus it is a must that what you should hire must be holistically
ready in terms of competence and personality which is manifested in their
behaviour.
Application of the Concepts /Topics Assigned to the Solutions of the
Case
Recruitment is searching for and obtaining a pool of potential
candidates with the desired knowledge, skills and experience and behaviour
to allow an organization to select the most appropriate people to fill job
vacancies against defined position descriptions and specifications.
The purpose of the recruitment process is to find the widest pool of
applicants to provide the greatest opportunity to select the best people with
pleasing behaviours and personality for the required roles in the
organization. Having an effective recruitment strategy that includes
physiological and behavioural assessments is paramount to the success of
any organization that will ensure that people working in the company are
emotionally and psychologically ready and stable as they face the challenges
of the job. The recruitment and selection function can become a costly and
inefficient process if not approached in a systematic and proactive manner
with considerations to the holistic capability of the applicant including the
assessment of the psychological behaviour of the person.
Conclusion
We, therefore conclude that the recruitment and selection of human
resource is a tremendous factor for the success of the company in the future.
Mr. Francisco must give the two individual a chance and prove their worth, it
would be beneficial for him if he takes the risk of hiring them however ensure
that they all also exposed to orientations on how they can showcase and
improve their interpersonal skills in their dealings with colleagues and
clients. Thus it is important to always incorporate the considerations of
understanding human behaviours and harnessing these potentials in order to
create a better organizational culture of behaviours in the work setting and
performance. The proponent believes that by understanding the dynamics
and diversity of behaviour we can be able to create a more competitive
workforce that are well adopted to the changes in the environment.
