1. General Information
The study investigated occupational health and safety (OHS) practices across eight
Provincial Hospitals in Misamis Oriental, focusing on health workers and administrators. It found
that while employees occasionally perceived workplace hazards, there was a need to explore
factors affecting inconsistent safety measures. Conversely, positive ratings for Workplace
Policies and Procedures indicated a strong organizational culture and high OHS awareness among
employees. The study highlighted a positive OHS participation culture and successful policy
implementation but identified challenges such as training complexities and compliance issues.
Variations in OHS practices across hospitals underscored the importance of tailored approaches
to enhance safety initiatives. Overall, the research emphasized the critical role of clear policies,
organizational structures, continuous evaluation, and local understanding in promoting a safe
work environment in healthcare settings.
