Question# 1

a) For what value of 𝑡 are 𝑢


⃗ =< 𝑡, −1,1 > and 𝑣 =< 𝑡, 𝑡, −2 > perpendicular?
b) For what value of 𝑡 are 𝑢
⃗ =< 𝑡, −1,1 > and 𝑣 =< 𝑡, 𝑡, −2 > parallel?
Question#2

a) Find vector equation, parametric equations of the line passing through the point
𝑃(6,3,2) parallel to the vector from P to 𝑄(2,1, −3). Also find two other points on
the line.
b) Is the line through (4,1,-1) and (2,5,3) perpendicular to the line through (-3,2,0)
and (5,1,4)?
Question#3 Find distance between the parallel lines

𝑥 = 5 − 12𝑡, 𝑦 = 3 + 9𝑡, 𝑧 = 1 − 3𝑡

𝑥 = 3 + 8𝑠, 𝑦 = −6𝑠, 𝑧 = 7 + 2𝑠
