COURSE DESCRIPTION

PRINCIPLES AND METHODS OF EXTENSION COMMUNICATION IN


AGRICULTURE

PREREQUISITES
NONE

COURSE CREDIT/UNIT
3 units

COURSE OUTCOMES
Upon completion of the course, the students will be able to:

1. Identify the context of extension.

2. Define agricultural extension and recognize its different


terminologies, meaning and history in the Philippines and other
countries.

3. Perform the roles and functions of an extension worker.

4. Practice the methods and techniques in extension teaching.

5.Design communication letter, program/training proposals and


program/training evaluation forms.

6. Present program/training proposals.

7. Plan and conduct program/trainings in communities.

8. Justify the prospects and opportunities in agriculture specifically


in agricultural extension.

CLASSROOM POLICIES

1. Respect each other (teacher and classmates).

2. Wearing of school uniform is a must inside the classroom except for


Wednesday.

3. Men with earrings/piercings are prohibited to enter the classroom.

4. Cross dressing during wash day is not allowed.


5. Each student is expected to download the Facebook, Messenger,
Gmail, Google Classroom, Google Meet and Microsoft Office
applications in their mobile phones or laptop to be able to access the
modules, quizzes, exams and other school related activities in case
Covid cases will again surge and online classes will be implemented
again. If student were unable to download and manipulate the
mentioned apps, they should approach the subject teacher for them to
set an arrangement and address the problem encountered.

GRADING SYSTEM (for 1st Semester AY 2023-2024)

Quizzes 40%

Class Standing 20%

Final Examination 40%
