CC125L – Information System (Laboratory)

Official Rubric for Database Project Proposal.

A properly designed database provides you with access to up-to-date, accurate information.
Because a correct design is essential to achieving your goals in working with a database, investing
the time required to learn the principles of good design makes sense.

Directions. For the final project, students are required to layout a well-designed database via ER
modelling of their chosen organization/company. While data gathering is pertinent to the said
project, populating it relevant records is also assessed. Apply CRUD operations upon building
the database aided with preferred DBMS. Present project output subject for critical evaluation
and anticipate manipulation commands.

Component Score (Remarks: Optional)


1. Organization of Presentation. The
transitions and flow were easy to follow.
Meaningful and systematic projection of
contents. (15 pts.)
2. Supporting Materials. All relevant
information was obtained, and
information sources were valid.
Analysis and design considerations
were well supported by the information.
(15 pts.)
3. Subject Knowledge. The deliverable
demonstrated knowledge of the course
content by integrating major and minor
concepts into the response. The
deliverable also demonstrated evidence
of extensive research effort and a depth
of thinking about the topic. (20 pts.)
4. Technical Skills. Demonstrate an
efficient way of writing a query. Well-
constructed SQL queries in retrieving
information with high percentage of
accuracy. (20 pts.)
5. Speaking Skills, Decorum and
Participation.
Team members were poised and had
clear articulation. Every team member
spoke and participated at a very
high and balanced level. Speakers
demonstrated good volume, and
eye contact. Enthusiasm and
confidence were exuded. Polite manner
of interacting. (10 pts.)
6. Project’s Complexity. The overall
design consists of sophisticated
elements and showcases challenging
angles of establishing connections of
entities. (20 pts.)
