EVENT PROPOSAL
I. PROPOSED ACTIVITY: Acquaintance Party
II. ORGANIZERS: MSC Officers
III. DATE: August 08, 2024
IV. VENUE: Saint Martin Academy, Inc.
V. RATIONALE:

The acquaintance party is one of the most anticipated and awaited events
by the students. Acquaintance party allow students to get to know each other, especially
at the start of a new academic year. It was held to welcome the transferees or freshmen
students of a school by the old learners. These are the annual getting-to-know-each-
other parties of each branch for both old and new students and faculty alike, attended by
the school faculty and staff. Its main purpose is to help students get to know each other
and enjoy themselves.

The Objectives of this Event are the following:


(1)To welcome freshmen and all martinians, creating an environment where everyone
can mingle and acquaint themselves with one another.
(2)To help students build confidence and enhance their intrapersonal and social skills.
(3)To help all learners engage with new peers and create a sense of belonging.
(4)Through this event it could help in building a network of friends that can provide
mental support, stimulate academic discussions, and offer a social outlet.
(5)To practice and perform the school’s core values.

VII. PROGRAMME

PART I:
I. Opening Prayer: Samuel Eric Feguro (LUMEN CLUB President)
II. Singing of National Anthem: On Air
III. Offering flowers and candles to Saint Dominic de Guzman’s image:
Selected learners
IV. Reenactment of the life of Saint Dominic: grade 10 St. Dominic de
Guzman
V. Opening Remark: Mr. Domingo Faeldonea
VI. Rite of Acceptance by Sister Principal
VII. Giving of Certificate of Acceptance for the new and transferees.
VIII. Community Song (WELCOME TO THE FAMILY)
PART II:
A. Introducing of the Activities/Games by station to be supervised by the MSC
B. “HUKBO, BŭBŏ: Saint Martin Academy rite of acceptance
a) This activity will be done after games by station
b) Martinian Student Council suggests to request a fire truck for
this event

VIII. MECHANICS | GENERAL INSTRUCTION FOR GAMES


1. All Martinians will participate.
2. Learners are divided into 6 groups through count off (core values: veritas,
compassionate service, Marian devotion, joy, excellence, and
spirituality).
3. There will be a designated place for each team for their meetings.
4. Each team must wear their color-coded shirt:

 Veritas – black
 Compassionate service - orange
 Marian devotion – clue
 Joy -yellow
 Excellence - purple
 Spirituality – red

5. While the transferees/new learners will wear WHITE t-shirts.


6. Each station of the game has an assigned facilitator (teachers/ MSC officers)
7. After the game on each station, there will be a processing questions to the
learners. Asking what are the lessons they have learned about the game.
8. The team must select two leaders to lead their group.
9. Each team will be provided with a straw lace rope, and the whole team will be
inside of it to make sure that they are not in separate ways.

IX. ACTIVITIES

I. Games
For KINDER to GRADE 3 (to be supervised by their adviser)

A. Pass the ball


i. The starting person on each team passes the ball over their head.
ii. The person behind then raises the ball above their head and continues until the
last person gets it.
iii. They should sit down while passing the ball.

B. Limbo-rock
i. Each team should form a line while holding the person in front of them without
breaking the line.
ii. If in each team there is someone that broke the line/ touched the rope, the
remaining teammates at the back should continue with the game. From the first
player up to the player who touched the rope of broke the line will be out.
iii. The last remaining group will win the game.

C. Simon says
i. Group the learners.
ii. One person is Simon (teacher), and the other players follow Simon’s instructions.
iii. Standing in front of the group Simon tells the players what they must do.
iv. The players must obey all commands that begin with the words “Simon Says”
v. If Simon says, “Simon Says group yourselves into 2” then they must follow it.
D. Paint me a Picture
i. Group the learners.
ii. The facilitator gives a certain situation.
iii. Using only their bodies and personal effects, the groups must illustrate the scene.
iv. At a given signal, everyone freezes.
v. If someone move, they are out of the game.
vi. Points can be given to the most realistic and most creative group.

For GRADE 4 to 12

A. Caterpillar balloon relay


i. Each team must have 12 members.
ii. Members will stand in the line and placed the balloon between every two people
standing next to each other.
iii. The goal is to move together forward without using hands to hold balloons in place.
iv. The goal of the game is where it gets interesting.
v. If they dropped the balloon, they need to start all over again.
vi. The team with the least time will be declare as the winner.

B. Human caterpillar race


i. A team should have 10 members
ii. They should stand inside the structure (feet on the newspaper, arms above their
heads holding the newspaper above them.
iii. Carefully take one step forward (all together) while gently pushing forward the
newspaper overhead.
iv. The person at the front of the line sets the pace, keeping the newspaper tracks
moving forward from one end of the field to the other.
v. They should be careful not to rip the newspaper.
vi. The team with the least time to finish the game will be the winner.

C. Straw Relay
vii. Each group compose of 15 players.
viii. Each team must line in front of the row bottles.
ix. The game begins when the referee signals, but each player must spin three times
before moving to the starting line.
x. They must put a straw in each bottle in their row.
xi. After the first player placed the straw inside the bottle, the next player should spin 3
times before starting.
xii. The team with the least time to finish the game will be the winner.

D. Ping Pong Ball Relay


i. Each group is composed of 15 players.
ii. Each member has to put the plastic cups on their heads.
iii. The ball should be passed with their head.
iv. If they touched or dropped the ball they should start from the beginning.
v. The team with the least time to finish the game will be the winner.

E. Pull the strings relay


i. A team should have 10 members.
ii. Members will have to pull and control the strings to keep the ball from falling from
the plate.
iii. The members have to let the ball fall inside the cup at the end point.
iv. The timer will start as soon as the ball is inside the plate.
v. The team with the least time to finish the game will be the winner.
