Lesson 1: Life Course Theory

The life course approach examines an individual`s life history and investigates, for example, how
early events influenced future decisions and events such as marriage and divorce, engagement in
crime, or disease incidence.

For me yes it defends of circumstances that people have or going through.

Lesson 2: Latent Trait Theory


Activity 2.1: Discuss the concept latent theory trait theory? Write your answer on the space
provided.
Latent trait theory is the idea that certain people have personal traits that are responsible for the
need to commit a crime. This can be seen from the fact that these individuals have potential, that
is, hidden personality traits or traits that control their impulses.

Lesson 3: Interactional Theory


Activity 3.1: Discuss the concept of interactional theory? Write your answers on the space
provided.
Interactional theory proposes that the fundamental or primary cause of delinquent behavior is a
weakening of bonds to conventional society.
Interactionism is an approach to social cognition or other people's comprehension problems that
focuses on physical behavior and environmental context rather than mental processes.

Activity 3.2: Have you experienced losing your bond with your parents? If yes, did it lead

Yes, I experienced losing my bond with my parents and it leads me to antisocial behavior because as I
get older there are many things I should prioritize like school, myself. There are problems that come into
our lives that we choose to solve on our own.

Lesson 4: Age-Graded Theory

The term aging refers to a phenomenon in which people tend to be less likely to commit a crime
as they get older.

Activity 4.2: Discuss briefly the concept of age-graded theory. Write your answer on the
space provided.
Age-graded theory or turning point theory explains the change in an individual's crime rate as a
function of biographical events. To do this, they use so-called "turning points". This can
enhance, weaken, or interfere with criminal activity

Activity 4.3: EVALUATION


My rate is 5 because I have question in my mind that why people commit a crime as they go
through the adolescents. As we get older we know what is right or wrong and good or bad deeds.

The social development model organizes the results of research on risk and protective factors for
delinquency, crime, and substance abuse into hypotheses regarding the development of antisocial
and prosocial behavior. The model is grounded in empirically supported theories of deviance.

My rate is 10 parent values are important for their child because they will be the first one to
teach good manners on their child and explain what society we have nowadays. They are first to
be the child’s guide for his future.

The criminal self-control theory, often referred to as the general criminal theory, is a
criminological theory of the lack of personal self-control as the main driving force of criminal
behavior.

They commit crime because of their behavior and being a rational thinker. In the theory self-
control mentioned as the main driving force of criminal behavior.
