Outbound Process Oriented Storage Control (OBD POSC)

POSC is used in warehouses where there is need for multi steps movements for stocks inside the
warehouse due the restrictions in layout of the warehouse for simple movements. In complex
warehouses, outbound process involves a series of multi step movement. means that the material
which is picked does not directly go the door or goods issue area. instead will go to interim storage
type for packing and value-added services again from there the Handling Unit (HU) is staged in staging
area followed by loading. Handling Unit undergoes the multi-step physical movements.

The following Process Steps are used in OBD POSC

• Remove from Stock (Pick)

• Pack
• Stage
• Load

SNO ACTIVITY STD EXTERNAL STEP

1 PICKING OB01
2 PACKING OB02
3 STAGING OB03
4 LOADING OB04

The above steps are calling as external steps also it has internal steps each external step is having
source and destination also have individual tasks as well
PICKING: source storage type it may High rack or any and work center is destination
PACKING: Work cente is a Source; Destination is also Work center
STAGING: source is Work center and destination is GR staging area
LOADING: source is GR staging area and destination is Door

Assign Storage Process Step

Process-Oriented Storage Control

configure the source and destination for each of the stock movements by Enter the source and
destination storage types and storage bins in for each external steps here one internal warehouse
process types 3070 is used for internal stock movement

2 Creation Rules for Warehouse Orders

During outbound POSC we assign storage process at warehouse order creation rule and this
warehouse order creation rule at warehouse process type

2.1Define Creation Rules for Warehouse Orders

SPRO→IMG→SCM Extended Warehouse Management→ Extended Warehouse Management→
Cross-Process Settings→Warehouse order→ Define Creation Rules for Warehouse Orders

6360959192 www.tagskills.com [email protected]

Click on new entry and assign storage process which we created in above steps OBD1 in Warehouse
order creation rule WCR1

2.2 Define Search Sequence of Creation Rules for Activity Areas

6360959192 www.tagskills.com [email protected]

3. Define Warehouse Process Type WPT
3.1 before creating WPT Create a Bin for 8030 storage type

3.2 Define Warehouse Process Type WPT

SPRO→IMG→SCM Extended Warehouse Management→ Extended Warehouse Management→
Cross-Process Settings→ Warehouse Task→ Define Warehouse Process Type
Copy 2010 Standard WPT for stock removal and copy as Z201

Assign warehouse order creation rule WCR1 in WPT Z201 and assign destination storage type and
bin

3.3 Define Control Indicators for Determining Warehouse Process Types

3.4 Determine Warehouse Process Type

6360959192 www.tagskills.com [email protected]

4.Removal strategy
4.1 Specify Stock Removal Rules
SPRO→IMG→SCM Extended Warehouse Management→Extended Warehouse Management→Goods
Issue Process→Strategies→Specify Stock Removal Rules

Here we can see there are two rule FIFO & LIFO

Now let’s see the first rule FIFO select the FIFO line item and click on specify stock removal rule

6360959192 www.tagskills.com [email protected]

WDATU Date and Time of Goods Receipt: Means removal of stock should happen as per the date and
time of the Goods receipt with the rule of FIFO First in first out

Now let’s see the second rule LIFO Last in First Out

WDATU Date and Time of Goods Receipt: Means removal of stock should happen as per the date and
time of the Goods receipt with the rule LIFO last in last out and descending tick box should be
activated in the LIFO Strategy

4.2 Specify Storage Type Search Sequence
SPRO→IMG→SCM Extended Warehouse Management→Extended Warehouse Management→Goods
Issue Process→Strategies→ Specify Storage Type Search Sequence

Click on new entry and define STST storage type search sequence for stock removal strategy SRR1

Select the STST for stock removal strategy SRR1 and double click on Assign Storage Types to Storage
Type Search Seq.

Click on new entry and assign storage type to STST for stock removal strategy SRR1

4.3 Define Stock Removal Control Indicator

SPRO→IMG→SCM Extended Warehouse Management→Extended Warehouse
Management→Goods Issue Process→Strategies→ Define Stock Removal Control Indicator

Click on New entry

enters the SRC1 STOCK REMOVAL CONTROL INDICATOR 1

4.4 Determine Storage Type Search Sequence for Stock Removal

SPRO→IMG→SCM Extended Warehouse Management→Extended Warehouse Management→Goods
Issue Process→Strategies→ Determine Storage Type Search Sequence for Stock Removal

6360959192 www.tagskills.com [email protected]

Here if my stock removal is SRC1 & WPT is 2010 with stock removal strategy SRR1 then it should
determine FIFO strategy

4.5 Optimize Access Strategies for Stor. Type Determination in Stock Removal
SPRO→IMG→SCM Extended Warehouse Management→Extended Warehouse Management→Goods
Issue Process→Strategies→ Optimize Access Strategies for Stor. Type Determination in Stock
Removal

The below ticked indicator of removal indicator and process type system should determine the
removal rule strategy

5. Work Centre
5.1 Specify Work Center Layout

5.2 Define Work Centre

6360959192 www.tagskills.com [email protected]

Work centre is VERP in that maintain external step TPPK Packaging and storage type 8030

5.3 Assign the bin to work center /N/SCWM/TWORKST

6360959192 www.tagskills.com [email protected]

6 Assign external step TPST staging area to 9020 storage type

7.extend product master /N/SCWM/MAT1

Assign stock removal Control indicator SRC1 & process type indicator Y1

Testing :-
1. Create a sales order VA01

6360959192 www.tagskills.com [email protected]

2. Create a OBD VL01N

3.Process ODO in EWM Side /N/SCWM/PRDO
