GEE 4 - GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP

March 25-27

Name: Parica, Julie Ann B.

Course: BEE-EGE 3-1

Part I. Define the following:

1. Diversity (explain briefly)

The existence of a range of identities, perspectives, experiences, and backgrounds within a

community or group is commonly referred to as diversity. Differences in race, ethnicity, gender, age,
sexual orientation, religion, financial status, physical capabilities, and other factors are all included.
Accepting diversity makes it possible for a variety of opinions and ideas to be taken into
consideration and valued, which promotes inclusivity, creativity, and understanding.

2. Multiculturalism (explain briefly)

The social, political, and cultural idea of multiculturalism recognizes and values the coexistence of
various cultural groups in a community. It encourages the idea that people with different cultural
backgrounds, perspectives, and customs can live in peacefully and add to the diversity of a
community. Respect, tolerance, and understanding amongst other cultural groups are key
components of multiculturalism, which promotes encounters and exchanges that can foster greater
harmony and an awareness of diversity.
3. Characteristics of Diversity and Multiculturalism (use a graphic organizer)

4. Problems in the Multiculturalism and the diverse environment (create a column/table of each)

stereotypes

5. Solution to problems in a Multicultural and Diverse Environment.

The implementation of inclusive policies, the promotion of cultural education, and the encouragement
of open discourse are essential in addressing the issues raised by multiculturalism and different
contexts. Conflicts and misconceptions are minimized when cultural groups are encouraged to
appreciate and understand one another. Incorporating diversity into leadership and decision-making
procedures guarantees that every community's needs and viewpoints are taken into account.
Additionally, funding language courses and training in cross-cultural communication promotes
integration and teamwork. Societies may utilize the richness of diversity to create more fair and peaceful
communities by putting an emphasis on inclusivity and taking proactive measures to address
marginalization and discrimination.
