Video teasing Titian to Monet at the Taubman Museum of Art

Titian, Veronese, El Greco, Rembrandt, Courbet, Pissarro, and Monet --


these masters are among the artists on view in the Taubman Museum of
Art's upcoming banner exhibition, Titian to Monet: European Paintings
from Joslyn Art Museum.

Spanning nearly 500 years, the expansive chronological and geographical


range includes the most significant periods, schools, and styles of
European art history, from the Italian Renaissance to French
Impressionism.

And in a first for the Museum and Roanoke, guests can experience an
immersive, multi-sensory companion gallery where several of the paintings
will come alive through virtual reality and music!

A special ticketed Opening Celebration is planned for Saturday, October 8.

A Member-exclusive Preview Day is scheduled for Sunday, October 9.

The exhibition opens to the public on Friday, October 14, 2022, and
remains on view through Sunday, January 8, 2023 in the Special Exhibition
Gallery and Carilion Clinic Gallery.

An evening of glitz, glamour, allure, and enchantment - the Opening


Celebration for Titian to Monet: European Paintings from Joslyn Art
Museum is your opportunity to enjoy the splendor of an exhibition opening
featuring masterworks by some of the most celebrated European artists of
the last 500 years.

Themed as Roanoke's Renaissance Rendezvous, the Opening Celebration


will feature live music, drinks, open galleries, Tableaux Vivant, pop-up
performances with costumed actors and dancers, red carpet photo opps,
selfie and sketching stations, and a multi-sensory immersive experience in
a companion gallery.

This is absolutely an evening you won't want to miss, offering live


entertainment paired alongside world-class works of art by European
masters such as Titian, Renoir, El Greco, Monet, and more.
