Topic: Grades of BSMT Students
A.) Rationale
In Our Lady of Triumph Institute of Technology, Inc there is a maintaining grade among the
students to be qualified in the institutional scholarship their General Weighted Average must be
1.9 or 86. Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation students were under my instruction in
Solid Mensuration and Spherical Trigonometry. In light of that I want to determine if the first
section of the 2nd year BSMT students have grades above the 1.9 or 86 to be qualified in the
institutional scholarship.
C.) Hypothesis
H 0 : μ=86
H 1 : μ >86

Note: *Significant lesser than 0.05, **Significant lesser than 0.01 M = Mean, SD = Standard Deviation, t = t-value, df = degrees of freedom, p =
p-value <0.05
Table 1 presents the grades of the 2nd Year BSMT students Pilot Section. As reflected in
the table the grades of the students have exceeded the institutional grade of 86 (M = 89.92, SD =
2.19). Moreover, the grades of the 2nd Year BSMT students have significantly exceeded the
institutional grade required to avail for the school scholarship (t = 11.171, p = 0.001). This
implies that the students outperform the threshold and standards of the said school.
