We're diving deep into the realm of productivity hacks that will
have you navigating Excel like a Seasoned PRO with your eyes
closed (though, I wouldn't recommend it unless you're really
confident in your shortcut game).

So, buckle up, fellow lazy souls, because we're about to


embark on a journey through +50 shortcuts that will turn you
into an Excel ninja faster than you can say "pivot table".

BASIC KEYBOARD KEYS
There are some keys that we use to operate a workbook.
In this section, you’ll learn Excel Shortcuts Keys to create & open a
workbook, save a spreadsheet, etc.

Ctrl + S To save a workbook.

Ctrl + O To open an existing workbook.

Ctrl + N To create a new worksheet.

Ctrl + PageUp To move to the previous worksheetsheet.

Ctrl + F4 To close Excel/Spreadsheet.

Ctrl + PageDown To move to the next worksheet.

Alt + A To close the current open workbook.

Alt + W To access the Data tab.

Alt + M To access the View tab.

Ctrl + W To close the current open workbook.


CELL FORMATTING SHORTCUT
A cell holds the data that we work on.
We use different shortcut keys for MS Excel to edit, align, add
cells, and perform different functions.

F2 To edit a cell.

Ctrl + C, Ctrl + V To copy and paste selected cells.

Ctrl + Shift + _ To remove the outline border of the cells.

Alt + H + A + C To center align cell content.

Alt + H + H To fill colors.

Alt + H + B To add a border.

Shift + Tab To move to the previous cell.

Ctrl + Shift + & To add an outline to the select cells.

Ctrl + Shift + ↑ To select the cells above the selected cell.

Ctrl + I, Ctrl + B To italicize and bold the font.

Ctrl + Shift + ↓ To select the column from the end of the table.

Tab To move to the next cell.


ADVANCED SHORTCUT KEYS
Here are some more advanced shortcuts that you must know.

Shift + F2 To add a comment to a cell.

Shift + F10 + D To delete a comment from a cell.

Ctrl + H To find and replace a word or phrase.

Ctrl + Shift + LAlt + ↓ To activate the filter.

Ctrl + ; To insert the current date.

Ctrl + Shift + : To insert the current time.

Ctrl + k To insert a hyperlink.

Ctrl + Shift + $ To apply the currency format.

Ctrl + Shift + % To apply the percent format.

Alt + Q To access the “Tell me what you want to do” box.

Ctrl + Shift + 0 To hide the selected column.

Alt + Shift + → To group rows or columns.


FORMAT ROW & COLUMN
SHORTCUT KEYS
In this section, we will learn to use Excel shortcuts on keyboard for
formatting rows and columns.

Shift + Space To select the whole row.

Ctrl + 9 To hide the selected row.

Ctrl + Shift + 9 To unhide the selected row.

Shift + Space, Ctrl + – To delete a row.

Ctrl + Space To select the whole column.

Alt + H + D + C To delete a column.

Ctrl + 0 To hide the selected column.

Ctrl + Shift + 0 To hide the selected column.

Alt + Shift + → To group rows or columns.


SHORTCUT KEYS FOR
PIVOT TABLES
The following are the useful shortcut keys for Pivot Tables in
Microsoft Excel:

Alt + D To create a new Pivot Table.

Alt + F5 To refresh the Pivot Table.

Alt + Shift + ← To ungroup pivot table items.

Ctrl + – To hide items on the pivot table.

Alt + F1 To create a pivot chart on the same sheet.

F11 To create a pivot chart on a new worksheet.


OTHER SHORTCUT KEYS
Here are a few other shortcuts in Excel that can be useful to
perform different tasks.

Ctrl + Shift + U To expand or collapse the formula bar.

Ctrl + Shift + F Open the Format Cells dialog box.

Ctrl + Shift + # Apply the date format - day, month and year.

Ctrl + Shift + @ Apply the time format-hour & minute (AM/PM).

Ctrl + Shift + “+” Insert a new cell/row/column based on the selection.

Ctrl + Shift + O To select cells containing comments in a worksheet.

Ctrl + Backspace Scroll the worksheet to show the active cell.

Ctrl + Home To move to the beginning of a worksheet (Usually A1).

Ctrl + End Move to the last cell of the sheet in the lowest row.

Shift + Enter Confirm your entry & moves the selection to the cell above.

Ctrl + R To fill the data in the leftmost cell of the selected range.

Ctrl + D To fill the data in the topmost cell of the selected range.
