2. Scope, Introduction and Background of the Project

Introduction: Travel Together is a mobile app designed to help
people find travel buddies with similar interests and travel plans. The
app aims to enhance the overall travel experience by providing users
with a platform to connect with like-minded travelers, split travel
expenses, and share memorable experiences, Travel Together aims
to solve this problem by connecting like-minded travelers who are
looking for a travel companion. The app will allow users to create a
profile, search for travel buddies based on their interests and travel
plans, and communicate with them through the app it is to provide a
platform for travelers who want to explore new places and make new

friends. This app will help users find travel partners who share similar
interests, travel plans, and preferences. It will also provide a safe and
secure environment for users to connect and plan their trips together
app is developed as a FYP SE.

Scope: The scope of this project is to design and develop a mobile

app that helps users find travel companions for their trips. The Travel
Together app will include features such as user registration, profile
creation, search functionality, messaging, and safety measures. The
app will be available for use worldwide and will cater to travelers of
all ages and backgrounds. The app will enable users to create a
profile, search for and connect with potential travel buddies based on
common interests and preferences, chat with them, and plan trips
together. The app will also provide features such as itinerary
planning, budget tracking, and real-time location sharing to enhance
the travel experience of users.

Project Background The idea behind the Travel Together app

stems from the growing trend of solo travel and the increasing
demand for travel companions among solo travelers. Many people
who love to travel often face the challenge of finding a compatible
travel partner who shares similar interests, budget, and travel style.
Travel Together aims to bridge this gap by providing a platform for
travelers to connect with like-minded individuals and plan trips
together. Travel Together app will target solo travelers, particularly
millennials and Gen Z, who seek a social travel experience and want
to explore new destinations with a group of like-minded people. The
app will also appeal to budget-conscious travelers who want to share
travel expenses and save money. project will be developed as a final
year project for the Software Engineering program. The project team
will consist of three members, including one developer, one designer,
and one project manager. The team will use Agile development
methodologies to ensure timely delivery of the project and maintain
quality standards.

experience.

Literature Review: The literature on travel buddy

finder apps suggests that there are several factors that
contribute to the success of such applications. The first
and foremost is user engagement. The app needs to
provide an intuitive user interface and a seamless user
experience. This can be achieved by offering features such
as easy registration, profile creation, and search filters that
allow users to find the right travel buddy quickly. another
important factor is safety and security. Users need to feel
safe while using the app and sharing personal information
with strangers. Travel buddy finder apps should have
robust safety protocols in place, including identity
verification, background checks, and secure messaging. in
addition to safety, another important factor is socialization.
Travel buddy finder apps should enable users to connect
with like-minded individuals and build relationships. The
app can facilitate this by offering social features such as
group chats, forums, and event, literature suggests that
travel buddy finder apps should have a strong social media
presence to attract and retain users. Social media can be
used to create brand awareness, offer promotions, and
engage with users.

solve)
Problem Statement: Solo travel can be challenging for
some people, and group travel can be expensive or
inconvenient. People often want to travel with someone who
has similar travel plans and interests, but finding the right
travel buddy can be a daunting task. Additionally, safety can
be a concern when traveling alone, especially for women.
Therefore, there is a need for a mobile application that can
help people find suitable travel partners with whom they can
share their travel experiences

Aims
1.Connecting like-minded travelers: The app can help connect
travelers who have similar interests, travel preferences, and schedules.
This can help travelers find compatible travel buddies to explore new
places together, share experiences, and make memories.
2.Enhancing safety and security: Traveling with a buddy can
enhance safety and security, especially for solo travelers. The app can
help travelers find reliable travel partners to share expenses, navigate
unfamiliar territories, and look out for each other's safety.
3.Facilitating trip planning: The app can also help travelers plan
trips together by providing them with tools to create itineraries, book
accommodations, and explore local attractions. The app can also suggest
travel destinations and activities based on user preferences and feedback.
4.Supporting sustainable travel: The app can promote
sustainable travel practices by encouraging users to share resources and
reduce their environmental impact. For example, travelers can share
transportation, accommodations, and meals, and reduce single-use
plastics and waste.
Objectives: The primary objective of this project is to
develop a mobile application that can connect travelers with
each other based on their travel plans, interests, and
preferences. The application will allow users to create their
profiles, search for travel partners, and communicate with
them to plan their trips. Additionally, the app will provide
users with safety features such as reviews and ratings of
other travelers and in-app messaging for secure
communication.

Expected tools and languages: Flutter and Python are the main
used in FYP.

Mobile app development: For developing the mobile app version of

the Travel Buddy Finder, programming languages such as Java, Kotlin,
Swift, or React Native could be used.
Backend development: The backend could be developed using a
combination of programming languages such as Node.js, Python, Ruby on
Rails, or PHP.
API Development: RESTful APIs could be developed using tools such
as Express.js, Django, Flask, or Ruby on Rails.
Database: Relational database management systems (RDBMS) such as
MySQL or PostgreSQL could be used for storing and managing user data.
Expected tools and languages: Flutter and Python are the main used.

methodology focuses on designing products based on the needs,
preferences, and behavior of users. It involves user research, prototyping,
and testing to ensure that the app meets the user's requirements. This
methodology is appropriate for Travel Together since the app aims to
match individuals with similar travel interests.
Designs:UI/UX Design: The user interface (UI) and user experience (UX)
design are essential for the success of the Travel Together app. The design
