1. Write an algorithm / flowchart for addition of elements of two equal length array / Hex to
decimal conversion / Decimal to Hex conversion / To find largest or smallest element from an

B1: Study of 3 or 4 bit Pulse Code Modulation Technique (PCM)

1. Draw circuit diagram /block diagram of ¾-bit pulse code modulation (PCM) and get checked
from examiner.
2. Draw observation table to measure modulating signal and clock signal.
3. Connect circuit as per diagram and show to examiner.
4. Adjust the modulating signal and clock signal for proper PCM output signal.
5. Draw the waveform of PAM signal and PCM output signal.
6. Write need of sample and Hold circuit in PCM Modulator.
7. Why level shifting is necessary in PCM system.
8. “PCM is a digital Modulation technique” comment.

B2: Build and test Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) circuit.

3. Measure the input signal Frequencies and control signal frequency using CRO.
4. Calculate the input signal frequencies and control signal frequency using standard formula.
5. Show the TDM output to the examiner.
6. Note down the readings in observation table and draw the necessary timing diagram.
7. Write any four applications of TDM.

1. Draw the block diagram of Frequency Division Multiplexing (FDM) circuit and get it checked

2. Draw observation table to measure modulating input signal, Carrier input signal and modulated
output signals.
3. Connect circuit and show to examiner.
4. Adjust the modulating signal & carrier signal for both balanced modulator circuits to get proper
AM output on CRO.
5. Draw the waveform of FDM output.
6. List the types of multiplexing technique & its applications.
7. What is the use of Linear Adder/ Mixer in FDM circuit?
