CONVERTING FRACTIONS TO DECIMALS


Converting fractions into decimals is a straightforward task if you have a calculator
to hand. If you do not have a calculator then you can still convert fractions into
decimals using long division.

To convert a fraction to a decimal, you simply need to divide the numerator by the
denominator using a calculator. Your calculator will display this as a decimal
answer.

Example 1 - Convert 5
to a decimal. 5
= 2 ÷ 5 = 0.4

Example 2 - Convert 16
to a decimal. 16
= 3 ÷ 16 = 0.1875
