learning objectives:
 WHAT IS DATA AND IMPORTANCE of Importance of data
management and organization.
 Organize and create tables in MS Access.
 Understand and use different data types in the database.
 Create relationships between tables.
 Understand the concept of primary and secondary keys.
 Create simple and complex queries.
 Create forms and reports through the wizard.
 Import and export data in/out of MS Access.

Bridge In:
Respond, React and Replay (technique)
A picture prompt will be shared on which the studends will be share their responses with the entire
class.

 Show a short video or a few images of a cluttered desk versus a well-organized office.
 Ask students: "Have you ever tried to find something in a messy room? How did it feel?"
Outcomes:
1. Describe What data is.
2. Analysis the Importance of data management and organization.
3.Learners can use database tools to create, organize and link data.

3. Pre-Assessment (1 minute)

 KNOWLEDGE CHECK QUIZ:

Turn taking technique: divide the class into two groups, cross questioning. A knowledge check
quiz will be conducted, where students will be cross-questioned on basic concepts like data,
organization, and familiarity with MS Access.

 What is data?
 Can computers help us to store information/data?
 Is it important to keep things organized?
 Who has used MS Access before?"
 "Who knows what a query is in the context of databases?"

4. Presentation
Key terms will be explained with real-life examples to clear any misconceptions.
5. Participation

Participation Activity: Students will engage in an activity where they compare finding a name from a
messy basket versus an organized one, leading to discussions on the importance of data organization.
They will then create and organize tables, establish relationships, and create queries, forms, and reports
using MS Access.

MAIN ACTIVITY

Hands-On Exercise:

 Table Creation. Have students create a table.


 Creating and organizing tables
 Using data types
 Establishing relationships and understanding primary and secondary keys.
 Simple Query: Have students create a simple query to select specific records from a
sample database.
 Complex Query: Guide students through creating a complex query with multiple
criteria.
 Form Creation: Have students create a form using the wizard.
 Report Creation: Have students create a report using the wizard.
 Import/Export: Demonstrate importing a sample Excel file into MS Access and
exporting data to CSV format.

Post-Assessment and summery

A "Post it Parade" activity will allow students to reflect on what went well and areas for improvement.
