Lesson Week 6 Solution Real
Lesson Week 6 Solution Real
Lesson Week 6 Solution Real
Content Standard: The learners demonstrate an understanding of the properties of substances that
distinguish them from mixtures.
Formation Standard: The learners manifest the value of Spirit of Excellence by taking part to be a solution
to a problem
Performance Standard:
The performance task was given in the previous lesson
.
I. Introduction / Pre-Assessment
Look around you. You see all sorts of things in different states, shapes, sizes, and colors. Everything you see is part of matter. Some matter are pure substances while some are
mixtures.
Upon completion of the learning plan, the learners will be able to:
2. manifest the value of the spirit of excellence by being able to know the uses of common solutions, especially in our everyday life;
3. apply the lesson in investigating the properties of mixtures of varying concentrations (S7MT-Ie-f-4)
Day 01
1. Essential Question:
How are solutions be differentiated from one another?
The students will be playing a game for the review/recap of last year’s lesson about mixtures.
To facilitate student engagement, the teacher will be asking the following guide questions:
What is the sub-classification of homogeneous mixtures?
The sub-classification of homogeneous mixtures is a solution. It is uniform in appearance and shows only one phase of two or more substances mixed together.
Can a liquid solute be dissolved in another liquid? What do miscible and immiscible mean?
Solvent and solute may be solid, liquid or gas. Therefore, solution may also be in solid, liquid and gas.
b. Soda drinks
c. Air
d. Bronze
e. Ethyl alcohol
Day 2
Identify the phase of matter of solute and solvent for the following solutions:
a. Mercury in copper
b. Sterling silver
c. Soft drinks
d. Air
e. Powdered juice
3. Lesson Proper: (
2. Temperature
3. Pressure
a. Why does salt dissolve in water and why does oil not dissolve in water?
( dissolve like )polar solvents dissolve polar solute and nonpolar solvent dissolves nonpolar solute
b. Temperature
In which temperature of water will sugar dissolve faster, hot coffee or iced coffee?
SOLID
Temperature Solubility
GAS
Temperature Solubility
c. Pressure
Pressure Solubility
Carbon dioxide ( solute )is dissolved at high pressure inside a container. When container is opened, the pressure decreases , and therefore, reducing the solubility of
carbon dioxide.
c. Temperature
Let them compare and contrast the two solutions. If you will be offered with these drinks, which do you
prefer? Why? How are these solutions described? Differentiate concentrated solution from diluted.
How will you compare the amount of alcohol present in a 70% rubbing alcohol with that of 40% rubbing
alcohol?
What are the types of solution according to amount of solute? Differentiate unsaturated, saturated and
supersaturated.
How much solute is mixed with each solution?
IV. Generalization:
V. Evaluation
Let them classify their learning as saturated if they learn a little, saturated if they learned enough of the lesson and supersaturated if they learned more than enough.
Day 3-4
Percent by mass
Percent by volume
f.
Give the students several exercises for mastery of solving for the quantitative concentration of solution.
9. What is the mass percentage of a solution made by dissolving 4 g. NaCl in 100 g.of water?
4g. x 100% = 3.85
1. What is the concentration of solution formed by mixing 15.0 g NaCl and 135 g water in % by mass?
A. 20.59 % C. 79.41%
B. 25.9 % D. 385.7%
2. Express the concentration of % by volume of a solution formed when 16.8 ml of sugar is mixed with 9.4 g water?
A. 5.62% C. 17.80%
B. 15.11 % D. 85.15%
3. What is the concentration in the solution that contains 5 grams of sucrose in 80 grams of water?
A. 5.9% C. 9.5 %
b. 6.3 % d. 16 %
4. Which of the following is not a solution?
B. Hydrogen D. Tea
A. 5 by mass C. 5 by volume
B. 5 by saturation D. 5 by mass-volume
